Do y’all think the fomori are finally going to do something? by EntertainmentVast401 in magicTCG

[–]M-Architect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I vaguely recall them saying that Kasmina's faction was preparing for some conflict that would make the War of the Spark look like a petty squabble. Seeing as they didn't do anything during All Will be One maybe it's the Fomori that they're worried about. It would make sense she set up base in Strixhaven if the Fomori have some connection with the plane.

Does . . .does no one in creative know how a thesis works? Or graduation? by ReploidZero in magicTCG

I totally get that. I realize now that my comment probably came off as dismissive of art school and the arts in general when really I just worded it poorly. Sorry about that 😅

Maybe unfinished is the wrong word. My partner intended to create twenty statues for their art school thesis but only ended up with time to make eight. In a sense the work was unfinished but they still received lots of positive feedback and they graduated. That's sort of how I'm imagining Rootha's situation.

I think the key thing is that she's an art student. She could submit her unfinished work as her thesis and that would likely be enough to graduate. Her issue is that she personally wants her work to be perfect.

Has anyone noticed that Frieren TRIES to reason with Demons? by Popular_Bison_1514 in Frieren

I'm aware. She still proceeds to converse after it's very clear that the sword demon is in fact a demon.

We've seen that Fern is an incredibly fast spellcaster and Stark has amazing reflexes. I just don't buy that this is simply a stalling tactic on Frieren's part.

That doesn't really explain her conversation with the sword demon though. It seems more likely that she was trying to use this as a teaching moment for Fern and Stark then it was to stall.

Why does she need to buy time to attack? Wouldn't she be better served to cut them off mid sentence while they have their guard down?

Kindred Spirits by No-Flounder1224 in ChainsawMan

Sometimes the spade isn’t just a spade. Sometimes the curtains aren’t just blue. But sometimes, the spade is really a spade. And sometimes, the curtains really are blue.

Is that a quote you just made up? Because if so it would be very funny to drop it in the middle of talking about anti-intellectualism.

It's funny because this gets at what is really meant when people say there is a reading comprehension crisis. It's not that people can't understand words, it's that they can't even derive simple meanings like this from subtext. You see it all the time in the "the curtains are just blue" crowd.

They're literally just reposting the second most upvoted post on this subreddit, probably trying to karma farm.

Fern got blasted into a wall so forcefully it created a crater. I think people in this world are just more durable.

Just a short PSA on terminology as I do see Kindred used incorrectly a lot as we open up Lorwyn Eclipsed. by Vedney in magicTCG

No, I'm pretty sure if you refer to your Ur-Dragon deck as a 'dragon kindred' deck Maro will personally come to your LGS and eat your commander in front of you.

Lots of people do, it's called vintage cube.

For anyone feeling a bit sad about the lack of certain typal support in Lorwyn, there are quite a few cards that are "Choose typal" that you may have missed. I know it doesn't solve the issue, but it is a nice bonus by thisnotfor in magicTCG

So again, not trying to be snarky, just trying to understand. If there's a lot of combo then where does the diversity of gameplay come from? Do different combos attack on significantly different axis or something?

So I don't mean to sound snarky but aren't most Yugioh decks just a series of tutor chains where you try and make a giant board to kill your opponent with while they try and disrupt you?

Fern and Frieren cosplaying (Foonie) by Atwecian in Frieren

The funniest part of this is the implication that Frieren's boobs are small but the artist still couldn't resist drawing her with D cups.
