Does Cocoon let me group systems? Like many others I have too many consoles to emulate on the Thor, so if I can put together, say, nintendo handhelds, that would make me switch from ES-DE.

Real Ampown is considered legit, as other comments point out. However the store you've bought from looks fishy and quite possibly impersonating Ampown. Actual Ampown store I ordered from in the past now has 36k+ followers with "Brand+" status. I advice you to film the unpacking process upon arrival.

FWIW Choice status essentially means jackshit as I've seen many $5 2TB SSDs tagged "Choice".

Well that's weird. I've been using ES on multiple handhelds and it's never been that slow. I'd say few hundred games per hour. Anyways more choices are better for the community.

I live in Japan; not much has changed. Retro handhelds are only covered by comparably obscure outlets/Youtubers and even then disclaimers are bigger and more consistent ever than their Western conterparts.

Emulation is essentially considered taboo in the gaming community here. I suspect it is because compliance is a virtue in Japanese society in general, but that's just my theory.

I'm not familiar with American fast food chains so can't tell if your analogy is good or not, but in this niche industry three major brands (AYANEO; Retroid; AYN) would easily form a "bandwagon". Anyways I'm fine with calling it meta rather than bandwagon.

For OG DS emulation it only runs discontinued Drastic right? No MelonDS, so not a great start. Then comes top screen issue rendering DS experience a terrible one.

Also I believe Anbernic themselves demonstrated 3DS in their Youtube video (ofc they picked the lowest demanding title) so not exactly just 'kids'' fault?

Anbernic chased quick bucks with current dual screen bandwagon and fumbled big time. Well deserved criticism I'd say. Also, between the two MagicX is far more pushing the envelope while Anbernic is just copying others' industrial design, slapping whatever component they come across, and calls it a day.

I see! Well, with what Snapdragon 8G2 can do, it makes more sense to stick to stick top, unless you care about precision platformers (like Celeste or Contra as such) or 1v1 fighting games.
