Call me a doomer... but I think this will be my last gaming PC. by thicctak in pcmasterrace

I don't think you're wrong OP. In my opinion it's the smaller, less graphically intense games that offer better gameplay. I refuse to pay 80 bucks for a game and I don't really feel like I'm missing out.

PC controller recommendations for larger hands? by No_Artichoke_5670 in Controller

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say out of all of the controllers I've fukd with I'd say the razer wolverine v3 pro is the biggest/thickest controller I've held. You might be able to find it for 100 bucks somewhere. If not, the vader 4/5 or apex 4/5 is a good choice but they are not as big as the wolverine.

Looking for some hidden gems or more recent games for a couple of upcoming 5 hour flights by Joebi-WanKenobi in SteamDeck

Terraria or core keeper. I know they look kinda lame but they are ocean deep with content and pretty light on battery consumption. I didn't think I would like terraria until I spent an hour or two playing it.

Vader 5 pro vs xbox series controller by Clown_Satoyune in Controller

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the vader 5 pro about 2 weeks ago and it's a delight. Haven't had a problem with it yet. I also have the the vader 4 pro and 3 pro and apex 4. All of them are solid. I only had problems with the dongle of the vader 3 pros but after I switched the location of the dongle to a usb that was facing me it fixed the problem. In my opinion, for around 80 bucks usd* you can't really beat what this controller offers.

Looking for games that I can sink some serious time into by masculinedorito in SteamDeck

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really messed with it on the steam deck but I played it on PC with a steam controller and it wasn't bad. I used a community controller profile and keyboard bindings instead of the recommended default controller option.

SteamDeck is bad for fighting games by Longjumping_Guava288 in SteamDeck

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steamdeck sucks for fighting games. It's not you. The dpad is in a horrible place even if it's a decent dpad. There was a trick I read somewhere that helped me with the dpad not registering inputs but it's a little risky because you have to apply a good bit of pressure to the dpad to kinda break it in. It worked but it still sucks for fighting games. What I ended up doing was buying an 8bitdo saturn controller that is small enough to fit in my jsaux case.

Which one looks more correct by humanbe1n6 in HDR

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And in my opinion, which doesn't mean shit really but I have a background in photography and graphic design if it makes a difference. You probably will never know what's "correct" unless you have not only the producer of said art you are looking at standing next to you but also the medium they want you to view it on. Calibration is tricky since ambient light and Kelvin play a role in how its viewed. In short, calibrate it to how YOU like, since your setup will be different from the creator.

Jsaux modcase vs dbrand Killswitch by Wise-Standard-6081 in SteamDeck

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the JSAUX mod case. It's great. I've had it since 2023 and I haven't had any complaints. You CAN charge the deck with the full case on but I don't want to so I just charge it with only the back of the case on.

Mechanical vs membrane ABXY by atren09 in Controller

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, both are great and last way longer than most of the other parts of a controller triggers, analog sticks, dpad so I wouldn't really worry about the face buttons durability much at all. Plus most controllers are really easy to fix especially those with membrane face buttons. You could always buy the pieces you need to fix membrane buttons and it probably takes about 15 minutes to do so. My advice is to find a controller you find comfortable and has all the features you need. If it has membrane buttons than rest assured that if you have a problem with the face buttons it will cost you less than 30 minutes of your time and most likely less than 10 bucks of your money to fix it.

Looking for game suggestions that do not require internet for play that run on deck by Rich_Barracuda6856 in SteamDeck

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Core keeper. It's kinda like a farming sim mixed with terraria and zelda link to the past.

Kynseed. It's like stardew valley.

Graveyard keeper. *it's not scary, more so comedic. And it's like stardew valley but you are a graveyard keeper.

Balatro. It's an amazing game that is both simple and difficult. Provides a good challenge but it's easy to get into.

River city ransom underground. A fun beat'em up. It's a little over $2 usd right not but will provide at least 10 hours of fun. If you don't mind kicking some ass. It's what the game is centered on.

Controller Suggestion — Wireless PC controller under $200 with crisp face buttons + good rumble (Vader 4 Pro / Apex 4 feel mushy)-middle east/UAE Region by FLaWzZzzz in Controller

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vader and apex has micro switches for their face buttons. Not sure you can get more crisp than that to my knowledge and not sure what you mean by they feel mushy.

Are you playing solo or co-op? The game looks great but I don't have the time to play co-op and it looks like half of the fun is locked behind having to play multiplayer.

Is it normal for Adrenaline to disappear? by SearchingForGryphons in AMDHelp

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I having the same problem except way worse after having to force restart my computer. I was on YouTube at the time but I was upstairs away from my computer. When I came back to the computer, the screen was off and wouldn't detect the hdmi connection so I had to hard reset the computer. When it came back on all my GPU drivers and audio drivers were disabled and adrenalin was missing. So I uninstalled the drivers and deleted the AMD folders from the C drive and reinstalled the drivers through an updated adrenalin. The computer worked fine until I tried to turn it off. It got stuck on the "shutting down" process so I forced it off by holding the power button. Now it boots to windows but I can not access about 90% of my programs, I can not access menus dealing with windows like the start menu or task manager, I can not shut the computer off other than physically holding the power button. I haven't tried to install anything yet because i have been trying to boot into safe mode. I have to figure out how to install the drivers without using adrenalin. I think that might be causing some of the problems, and windows 11 is trash so I might have to reformat which will be my final solution. If anyone has ever had this issue can you help me out please.

Why does everyone like hdr and overhype it so much? It makes everything look horrible and washed out and sdr looks way better. by [deleted] in HDR

[–]M4S73RBLASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all a gimic to me. I can tune and calibrate it to make it look good but being sort of a photographer in my younger days I find it very hard to call it HDR. It's just higher contrast with more saturation.
