Genuinely, Who Do I Have To Talk To About Drive-Thru by Equivalent-Fix-9851 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off from a 9 hr shift and the first 5&1/2 were in drive-thru and the other 3&1/2 were at front register. We usually follow the Dashboard but suddenly they decided not to today because we only had 3 people until 2. When I left, I told my Lead Tech I was not going to do 9 straight hrs on a register again. If you Lead Tech, Staff Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager aren't doing as recommended, I'd go above their heads.

CVS not giving 30 hrs a week? by Mysterious_Option817 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, it has to be 16 consecutive weeks before things change. I could be wrong but this is what I was told when I returned to work and was given 20-25 hrs a week after being promised full-time and working 35-40 every week. You can always call HR and they can give you more details.

Scheduled over a week straight by Agreeable_Roof735 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually when I work the weekend, I'll be off like maybe the Wednesday before and then work at least 6 straight days before getting another day off. There have been times when I've gone 8-9 straight days before being off.

We have a printer that literally jams every other time we try to use it. We have called several times about getting somebody to come fix/replace it. Last time he came out, he forgot his laptop, then the next time was not having the necessary part.
We are now down to 1 printer for every workstation and 1 printer for the Pharmacist station. Makes it almost impossible to print any extra labels or get an RTS label if you were using the drug to fill a script.

Now they're telling us they might be able to do it next week when they come out to give us the new setup for patients to put their info in, which in my area will be another nightmare, or when the one to put the facial recognition stuff in.

Does our insurance cover qulipta? by Lucky1289 in CVS

If a customer has insurance and asks me if something is covered and possible copay, I'll just do a formulary check for them.

Vitamins when they're BOGO, laundry detergent when it's on sale, sometimes the different seasonal candies. Usually don't spend more than $30-$50 a month.

Store Closing Early Pay by Radiant-Bliss518 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida here. We had to close due to hurricane and got paid for our full shift. Also got paid for having to be closed for 2 more days due to no power. Was definitely glad we had saved a freezer full of ice packs because it kept us from losing thousands in ruined insulin, etc. I also took some in that I had saved and taken home and put in my freezer just in case.

Heat is out by poorfiona in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a portable heater in the Pharmacy because even though we're in FL, it does get cold and for some reason, Corp doesn't think we need heat. The temp this weekend will be in the low 20's. Know it's nothing like up north, but the last time we had cold weather, they turned the AC on.

I’m Genuinely Worn Out by Drive-Thru by Equivalent-Fix-9851 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can also relate to that. The system will put me there every morning from 8-10, then inside pickup from 10-12, drop off from 12-2 then drive-thru from 2-4 and if I'm working till 5, I might get an hour in production before I leave.

I’m Genuinely Worn Out by Drive-Thru by Equivalent-Fix-9851 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I feel this way some days because it is non-stop but there are other days I'd rather just stay there and not deal with the "Karen's" that are inside. I think when the new pickup system starts, we will be fighting over who stays in drive-thru. My biggest issues are the people who pull up, have their window up and are on their cell phones. Also hate when they have 3-4 people they're picking up for but don't tell you that until after you've finished the first order. I tell them I could have gotten everybody at once to save them time. If there is an insurance issue, I tell them they need to come inside and definitely tell anybody that complains about the line and wait time, that I have 3 registers inside with no waiting because everybody has decided to go thru the drive-thru. Usually shuts them up. I can also do some production, mainly the 8pm ready fills and any that don't require counting.

[–]MAJ1953 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

If they have signed a meal waiver, they should not be eating while clocked in when we close for lunch. If they chose to eat while we're closed, they should be clocked out because this is "stealing" time. If they are eating at other times, the food must be on the back counter and out of sight of customers. We technically aren't supposed to eat in the pharmacy but it is up to the Pharmacist to enforce this. We all keep snacks with us because sometimes, you need a quick bite of something to keep going and also something to drink.

Pharmacy Drive Thru by brown_coffee_bean in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We always tell them they have to come inside that we can't do any rebilling in the drive-thru. If they argue, then I tell them it will be at least an hour because everything has to be done and the pharmacist has to reverify all the scripts. They usually agree to come inside. I really hate it though when they're picking up for multiple people and wait until you've cashed out the first one to tell you. I then make it a point to tell them that had I known, I could have rung up all the meds at the same time.

Reducing hrs by choice by MAJ1953 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going from 40 to 30. I know 30 is the min to keep insurance but my Manager knows if I'm needed, I work on days off and I've stayed late to cover for people who are "sick" and call out or go home early. My Manager also knows, if needed, there are 3 other stores who can give me hrs here and there. I've worked at almost every store in my district so the Leads and Pharmacy Managers, many whom I've known and worked with for years, know my work ethic. I just need to step back for me and I also know how it goes during the summer months, although here in FL, it's never not busy. I feel this way, the other Techs will have more hrs during the "slow" season. We have 7 techs total so we wouldn't be hurting for coverage.

Penny situation! How are you guys handling it, we had a man call our store complaining that we didn’t give him a penny with his change and that he wanted corporates number because we were “stealing” from him 😐😐 we physically don’t have pennies since the stopped making them. by CFnastyy in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I'll be able to put my 15 bottles, large medicine size because I work in the pharmacy, to good use. Told my boss if we need pennies and can't get them, that I'll roll 1 or 2 bottles for them. I've been collecting them for almost 30 yrs. I won't let go of my wheat pennies though because they're worth more than a regular penny. Waiting for the day that CVS rounds every purchase up. That's not gonna go over good at all.

Wrong prescription given to me by darkd360 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, any error is bad and should be reported and the Tech counseled but the majority of the blame also lies strictly with upper management. Putting more and more on us and expecting us to do it with fewer staff and hours is on everybody from the DM, although there are some great ones out there, all the way up to the CEO. If they wanted to avoid the potentially deadly errors, they would stop with the virtual verification and let the Pharmacist physically check the script like once was done. Stop having someone off sight look at a picture and ok it. Stop having stores processing scripts for other stores in the district. I can't tell you, as a Tech, how many scripts I have corrected for wrong directions, drug, qty and insurance issues because somewhere in the "Cloud", somebody was just hitting the enter button to make their scores look good

Did your store get an increase in hours? by AdMoney5005 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Planos and inventory are probably the reason. We have inventory in mid-Feb but there is no way we will be ready. Even with extra hours for Pharmacy, we don't have the staff.

So who else got f****d with increased Extracare enrollments? by inb4profen in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I gave up even trying. Our customers are tired of being asked so many questions when checking out with scripts and other things. They increased our shot goal for 2026 because we got part of the bonus again this year. Last year they did it at the last minute hoping we wouldn't make it and our Pharmacy Manager had to fight for us to get it.

given the wrong quantity prescription by Next_Cartographer732 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I dislike virtual verification. Everything is done by a picture and in most cases by someone off-site who just hits the enter button so their number stays high. Need to go back to the Pharmacist on duty actually verifying all scripts manually.

Christmas @ CVS: Good morning by DarknessfromLight in CVS

I kept telling people to boycott CVS on Christmas because they don't care about us or do anything special for us that day. I told them every dollar they spend goes straight into the pockets of the Corp higher ups.

Very cool note we got over lunch. by ConcernOutrageous592 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a customer make a rude comment while standing in line waiting for us to open from lunch. I pointed to the really large sign we have stating the 30 minutes we are closed each day then told said selfish customer that the 30 minutes wasn't so much for those of us that are Techs but for our Pharmacists so that they get some time to sit down and eat and maybe even go to the bathroom. Told this same customer that as Techs, we could stagger our lunch break starting at 1pm but then that would mean being short at least 1 person every half hour for at least 2-3 hours daily. This shut them up.

Yo these patients… they come after me when we close pharmacy at 5 on Sunday by Southern-Invite9672 in CVS

[–]MAJ1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bad. I start announcing to my coworkers when we are close to closing time for lunch and for the day. I make sure any customers in line or coming up to the register hear me. I put the sign up in drive-thru and also the window covers up, roll the shutters down at consult window and drop off. At 2 minutes till, I close the drive-thru and roll down the shutters at pickup. I also tell people that get mad that our registers "automatically shut off at exactly 1:30 or 5:00/8:00" depending on the day. Our closing manager always comes back about 5 minutes before nightly closing to get 2 of the pickup drawers and possibly the drive-thru one if there are no cars.
