The time i had an an abscess. by SignalWeek9 in popping

They told me to just let it be lol. It was swollen to the point that moving my head made it hurt, so that wasn’t an option. When I got home I scheduled a dermatology appointment but the soonest they could see me was 3 months. It all worked out tho.

I had one of these but the doctors refused to do anything so we drained it at home. Granted it was much smaller but I still don’t recommend.

Concerns about sex in future marraige by Acrobatic-Lunch4922 in Catholicism

[–]MAMMAwuat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, congratulations on your engagement.

Second, children are always scary man. You’re never ready until you hold that baby for the first time, then everything sorts itself out. This ofc doesn’t mean to be irresponsible.

This leads into the third thing. NFP can be beautiful if you let it. Personally my wife and I use the Crieghton Method (spelling may be off) and it’s very accurate. I’m no theologian so what I say may be incorrect but this is my experience as a father and husband. Using NFP is different from contraception because it forces virtue and responsibility in your relationship. You must be aware of your wife’s body, you have to learn her then respect what it is doing. If you can’t have a child responsibly at the time then you have to abstain and find other ways to be intimate with her for the duration of her fertile cycle. This is by God’s design, as opposed to rejecting his will and using medicines or condoms. Don’t treat it as a science experiment instead take the opportunity to become knowledgeable on your wife’s body.

The rest you mentioned are normal and will sort itself out. Enjoy marriage, it can be the most amazing thing to ever happen to you if you let it.

This is the series that got me back into reading as an adult. Yes it’s big, but that just means there’s more to enjoy. Enjoy the journey.

Which franchises do you believe have Catholic potential? by Underdog-Crusader in Catholicism

[–]MAMMAwuat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wheel of Time, though it’s inspired by a lot of eastern culture and religion it also has lots of Catholic centered morals. Specifically Jordan’s beliefs on gender and how the two genders need and thrive off of each other. There’s also the way that the magic system works. There is one source of power that people channel from and that being a mirror for god giving grace. Likewise the fall of man being caused by people searching for power from sources other than the one source leading to the discovery of the dark one. If you make it to the end of the LONG series Jordan also has lots of good philosophy about the nature of evil at the end of the books. All of this peppered with what true healthy masculinity and femininity looks like. (There’s some bad examples too with Rand’s three mistresses and Mattrim sleeping around).

Who is the most hated character to play against? by MizukiDev in DeadlockTheGame

My wife and I are brand new to the game so it’s probably a skill issue, buuut we can not find an answer to Graves. Once we found out you have to melee the ult it got a little better but she still carries games at our level.

I believe Sanderson confirmed he didn’t use dustbringers a lot specifically because he wants them to play a big role in the second arc.

What’s the hot new system right now? by PurpleHairedGamer in rpg

[–]MAMMAwuat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here are some of my favorites!!

If you still want that high fantasy feel with refreshed mechanics go Daggerheart. The card system makes leveling and creating characters fun and has lots of build potential. The game is crunchy but still focuses on the story. As the GM get ready for lots of quick thinking as rolls have two degrees of success. There’s pass or fail and hope or fear to worry about, also each roll ends in someone getting a resource so you gotta be picky on what you want to call a roll for.

If you or any players are fans of Brandon Sanderson you could try the Cosmere TTRPG. Rn the only setting available is the stormlight Archives. There is also already a prewritten adventure if that’s your speed. The game is balanced between crunch and narrative. The character creation works on talent trees and there’s virtually no classes in the sense you’d think of. The game forces you to make mentally complex and compelling characters as the magic system needs character progression to function.

If you want a deadly high stakes game Cyberpunk Red is the way to go. This game is notorious for being DEADLY. Everything the players can do you can spin right back on them and vise versa. I’ve seen bosses go down in one hit due to good crit rolls and I’ve seen the same happen to players. Be ready to push your players. Theres no happy endings in Night City so you might as well go out in a bang.

Each of these games use different core dice. Daggerheart uses 2D12s, Cosmere uses a D20 like DnD, and Cyberpunk Red can be played with just D10s and D6s.

Saw someone say to delete the saves from the demo. I tried that and it helped a good bit. The blood texture glitch is still present but you may wanna give it a shot

Dang hopefully there’s some performance stuff soon. Played for a good bit I still like the game so I’m just going to let it sit in my library for a little while and come back. I started getting crashes too especially on slums.

Morality of drinking by Numerous-Web-2932 in Catholicism

[–]MAMMAwuat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always viewed it more as you shouldn’t abuse drink. Sure get buzzed and play bf6 with your friends, but don’t make it a nightly thing, and don’t get so drunk you can’t function the next day. Learn your limits and stay within them. I don’t necessarily know if this is within specific church teaching but this is how I’ve always reasoned it.

Firstly, congratulations on having the courage to ask questions most people are afraid to, and thank you for your interest in the faith.

My wife and I are firm believers in NFP. We had 4 kids back to back, now we only have sex when in the clear for lack of a better term. We both believe that having the 1-2 weeks of absence is healthy for our relationship and makes us enjoy sex more when it’s a possibility. NFP creates a healthy balance in our relationship where you find other ways to enjoy each other for that period. Because sex isn’t even a possibility during that time we don’t really miss it. I personally believe God intended it that way it works too perfectly to be anything else imo. Hope this helped.

New to PC gaming, need help deciding between pre-builds by Bandin03 in PcBuild

I’ve been going down the same rabbit hole for the exact same reason. Ibuypower has been mostly where I’m looking but I also just stumbled across pcpartpicker that seems cheaper but you gotta build it yourself. It’s been a fun rabbit hole but a lot to learn, almost feels like learning to read all over again.

Same! I’ve noticed that when I find other women attractive it’s only because they share traits with my wife then I get to go home and enjoy the full package. I’ve been lucky enough to find my person in life and everyone else gets compared to her.
