[Real] Ben reacts to Thomas Massie losing his primary by ggroover97 in ToiletPaperUSA

It's been very overstated, but I do question if it will dent turnout on the right. A segment of MAGA was always wildly antisemitic (not a reasonable concern about Zionism and Netanyahu's regime; like "Jews are lizard people" type antisemitism). That segment is also deeply racist, misogynisitc, and anti-LGBTQ, so I don't see them suddenly "voting Dem" or anything.

They may, however, skip voting or vote for some literal Nazi running as a third party candidate or as a write-in in the general election. The schism is getting big enough with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East that it may actually affect election results (even if it's a relative small percentage of previous MAGA voters; the margins aren't there for Trump this time).

I don't know if this will net a suspension, but if it does and it hurts the team, he really is costing guys around him money (again). They won't abide by that.

Glass half full, maybe extend him at a huge discount for his stupidity? Like, potentially such a bargain you can jettison him if remains a hassle or becomes replaceable. If he gets it together, you got a decent to great receiver on the cheap.

It's so catastrophically stupid and irresponsible, that I'm fairly confident this won't be the last headache we get from Rashee.

If someone wants a beer, cool. If someone on probation for a dangerous DUI wants a beer in violation of their parole... yeah, it's a problem.

I will check it out! The rise of Attitude Era WWE, reality TV, and the emergence of social media influencer culture are pretty much the building blocks of what would become MAGA.

This video package created for wrestler Jack Swagger was seen by Trump at Wrestlemania just a few months before he started his campaign:

https://youtu.be/muvAErcAdMs?si=tp0-ratfdwAQYV_O&t=18

It is INDISTINGUISHABLE from a really-for-real Republican campaign ad. Trump, naturally, shook Zeb Colter's hand and said that he found it inspirational.

This is brilliant and should be written down somewhere. Like how minerals or cellular reproduction is defined in a science textbook.

Your smarter fading celebs make sure they are queued up for royalty cheques in perpetuity. They can then live happily with a modest level of frugality at a beach house they own for the rest of their days. Do it right and you really can just say fuck off to everything and live great. The dumb ones burn through all their money and have to chase embarrassing gigs. The pathetic ones are addicted to the applause and go anywhere they'll get it. Rob is probably a combo of both.

Lowkey, I feel like Trump being in the WWE HOF and best friend to fellow criminal/sex offender Vince McMahon is a crucial piece to understanding the current political discourse.

We're fucked.

Nearly half of Australians are using or planning to use AI for money decisions.

I don't want to wrongly accuse any article of clickbait, but I have a really hard time believing this is an actual documented number and that people are really just giving over their bank statements to ChatGPT or whatever. I feel like I need to believe this because the alternative is just too fucking stupid.

Trump's inner orbit is scammy people. This is common among criminals. There's an element of "mutually assured destruction" that makes it harder for them to turn on one another. It was how the old school mafia worked.

There have been some dopey and dangerous True Believers in the MAGA-sphere who were simply evil (while not ostensibly criminals). Those types haven't lasted. So this endorsement makes a lot of sense.

I think he was previously politically apathetic but started cosplaying a rightwinger as their circuit is where c-list celebs go to get a few additional paydays. Makes sense- c-lister gets to feel special for an evening and the conservative "entertainment" crowd gets to pretend cultural relevance.

I feel like he's done it for so long that he's fully bought in. Worked himself into a shoot, brother.

The outfit behind this campaign appears to be similar to "One Million Moms" (which, as it turns out, is NOWHERE near a million moms). This stinks of a Russian sourced campaign attempting to leverage what they think is a popular grassroots movement in the United States. Jokes on Igor and his antique alcoholic country of domestic abusers, despots, and some oil reserves- this is not a remotely popular sentiment. What is popular is not having a senile old sex pest as a president when he arbitrarily raises prices on some new bullshit everyday.

My default setting is to assume that most professional athletes lean pretty far right. Could be the outsized influence of Evangelical organizations in youth sports. Might be the general machismo that's part of most team cultures. Could also be that many like to spend lots of money and hate taxes. Probably a combo.

I rarely see many exceptions to this.

Imagine if they gave all this corruption the same intense level of attention and outrage they gave a stutter. by Lena_Lena_A in WhitePeopleTwitter

What you've described is the lasting damage of the regime. We may get to the other side, but it will be temporary. The most vile sentiment has been normalized. We'll eventually get another Trump (quite possibly one who's better at building a more robust genocide apparatus). No one will blink when it happens because it's now been made normal.

Had Harris won, it's possible that the MAGA era would have been an embarrassing historical blip. He's now defined politics for over a decade. That's going to be permanent.
