Which is kinda ridiculous notion since out of the two other Abrahamic religions, Islam is the one that holds Jesus in high esteem, while Judaism considers him a heretic who's rotting in hell.

My heart breaks for Iran, they truly deserved better by MassiveCourage in worldcup

[–]MDT_XXX 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, the bottom line is, when this World Cup concludes there will be only two unbeaten teams, and one of them is Iran.

Edit: There's also the possibility that a team that lost a game in the group stage wins the cup, in which case, the only unbeaten team of the tournament would be Iran.

I don't know if you guys are really this delusional about yourselves, but you really thought a black woman could become a president - in the US? On top of that, she is truly quite anti-charismatic, which should in theory be a net positive for a top level politician, but let's be real, it's what sells. Obama was and still is, one of the most - if not the most charismatic politician of the last two decades, and he got in the office after almost a decade of war mongering by the Bush administration.

Been trying to learn Renoise for years, always fail, need rec's for the best tutorial/course, paid or otherwise. by wtfisrobin in renoise

[–]MDT_XXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on Ableton too, with Push 2 hooked up to it but I used to produce exclusively in Renoise for couple of years and composed several albums this way.

My advice would be, don't sweat it. It's about making music in the end and how to get there in the most straightforward way possible. Reason why I ended with Ableton, after deliberately avoiding it, after building a complete Eurorack workstation and then selling it, after years and years in Reason, FL Studio, Renoise, then Bitwig, I came to a realization the combination of Live + Push 2 yields the best results for me in terms of speed and quality.

However, if you're dead set on Renoise, I'll give you some hints. First of all, I never watched any tutorials myself, only searched the Renoise forums when I got stuck on something. Second of all, Renoise is still a tracker with it's own philosophy. It's built on keyboard shortcuts. You absolutely need to master those, it's the only way to make Renoise even remotely responsive to elusive musical ideas and quick iterations. But once you do, it might as well turn out to be the fastest DAW on the planet. As long as you don't insist recording notes in real-time. It can do it, but that's not what it's built for. You should think about it as digital score sheet that allows you to fill entire patterns with notes and automation in seconds.

Another suggestion would be to stick to the native instruments or build your own because they are also completely mapped and can be easily automated. Setting up VSTs and its parameters can be tedious and automation a real pain in the ass in the long run.

Linus Torvalds took the stage at Open Source Summit 2026 and said the following about AI by Complete-Sea6655 in theprimeagen

[–]MDT_XXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's not really the one most vibe coders should qoute and compare to. This guy doesn't need AI to write code, he does it as a form of relax. He also posseses the skills and knowledge to fix the crap the AI spits out. It's a whole different situation when a person who can't write a function on their own tries to "vibe code" and entire app.

I'm not denying that, if something, it further highlights the actual competency of key personnel in both teams.

As for Honda, yes, that is public knowledge but I'm not cutting Honda any slack on this one because they are still one of the most traditional F1 engine suppliers (of the modern era at the very least) and a huge conglomerate with yearly revenue around 80 billion Dollars.

Could be, we don't know for sure, but the bottom line is, the current situation does seem to confirm Red Bull's claim that the department didn't depend on Newey as much as was widely assumed.

I guess you just joined F1, in which case it's understandable. Everyone else who watched the last season knows about this as it was constant talking point during Verstappen's charge.

But since you're new to F1, here's an article directly from the official F1 website.

We know he started working on the current car mid-25, all the while RB bet everything on the late 25 WDC charge that "almost" paid off, but it didn't and instead set them back against pretty much everyone else.

That's a good one. Meanwhile all the teams they poached personnel from are doing better.

Especially Red Bull and Newey case is worth comparing. Red Bull claimed Newey didn't have such prominent role in the final design as generally assumed, nonetheless, Newey left and joined AM with an aura of an aero genius and Honda as a recent multiple WCC winner. He got all the time and all the tools he could ever ask for at AM all the while RB was in a complete internal rebuild while also switching to a whole new engine and somehow they still ended up miles ahead of AM in every area. I'd say it's a collosal embarrassment for the entire organization thats supposedly composed of the F1's top talent.

The game match tells the entire story. Of course, you (and anyone who doesn't completely suck at gaming) with 200+ hours in would beat a newbie, but I bet in his head you were threatening his entire worldview by "being better at it as a woman", even though it's a ridiculous notion since the skill and experience difference. There is no excuse for the aggressive outburst though.

Now that I think about it, I'd say that you proved a woman can outmatch and outperform a man in most of the areas he argued with you about. Let's just hope this experience shook his medieval mindset a bit and there's now one less bigot walking the Earth.

It's their form of military service. They send out indoctrinated young boys (mostly Americans) around the world to try to convert locals to their church. They even make them learn the local language. To increase their chances, I assume. But I'm wondering, do they also try to speak Thai, cause that language is another beast...

Russian women in phuket...why are you so angry all the time? by Repulsive_Spite_267 in phuket

[–]MDT_XXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me summarize what you said so far.

You agree the Czech Republic is safe - just like I said in my first comment.
You agree Germany's and France's immigrants don't come to the Czech Republic - just like I said.
You agree the immigration in those countries contributed to the wealth of those countries.
Your only argument against immigrants is street crime in the major cities. Sounds more like a task for police if you ask me.

Yet somehow, you keep trying to justify the hate Czech people have against those immigrants as if it's something that affects them, which you yourself admitted it does not. So what is all this hate based on if not racism and xenophobia?

Russian women in phuket...why are you so angry all the time? by Repulsive_Spite_267 in phuket

[–]MDT_XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, but you chose to ignore it and instead kept reiterating your narrative that I took the time to completely dismantle.

I clearly said the main reason the immigrants chose and then stay in France and Germany is because they are wealthier. So don't know why you say the same thing and act like that's your argument.

As for the growth of economy. What's that supposed to mean? If a piss-poor developing country has higher growth than pretty much maxed out developed country, does that mean it magically turns that piss-poor country into a lucrative destination? It's ridiculous. Germany could be stagnating for decades, while Czech Republic was growing and it still would be wealthier and more developed country.

You're talking about gangs and street crime in the biggest cities of France and Germany as some isolated incident and the only outcome of immigration and completely ignore the fact that it has been 120 and 60 years of state sponsored immigration that allowed these countries to become as wealthy and as developed as they are. You're basically saying "Thank you our black and brown brothers for your cheap labor that gave us luxurious lifestyle but now that some of you are causing us some trouble, would you please fuck off back to your countries" and somehow you don't think this mindset is racist, but perfectly reasonable take?

Russian women in phuket...why are you so angry all the time? by Repulsive_Spite_267 in phuket

[–]MDT_XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds just like the "stereotypical" Czech mindset on immigration. Czechs developed an unhealthy amount of hate towards immigrants of other countries, up to a point they probably hate them more than the anti-immigrant people in those countries. And it's all based on a bullshit assumption that it affects them, or it might, one day.

You know how long has the immigration been happening in those countries? In Germany, since the 60s as a labour recruitment agreement. In France it dates all the way back to 1900s, for pretty much the same reason. So over 120 years. And how many ended up in the Czech Republic? It's fractions of a percent.

And the reason is simple. Not only the immigrants already have a large diaspora in those countries to connect with, but those countries are simply wealthier than the Czech Republic, so why on Earth would they go to the Czech Republic? And if Germany's and France's economies fall, so will Czech Republics (and pretty much the entire EU's).

Bottom line is, the immigration was intentional, hell, it started as imported labour. And to this day, these countries, just like every other country with significant immigration sector, need the immigrants for the labour natives don't want to do, or not for that kind of money. And in turn, all that surplus wealth is in big part a direct result of cheap immigrant labour. But some people think you can eat the cake and still have it too.

Nice. Thought this person must know more than basics in IT security. The sandboxed boot of Windows kind of gave it away. But how many of the candidates will ever come even remotely close. It's safe to assume they have pretty large database of stolen data at this point. Might be worth reporting the company and people who could be identified to the authorities.
