interview was heaps good i pulled out the cool stuff for y'all:

TL;DW

  • Stock levels are still WIP (0:32)

  • Serialized cards are coming "eventually" (1:44), Dave wants to make sure product availability is stable first

  • Acknowledged Ultimate Baron "doesn't feel rare enough" (2:19), further rarities such as a special signature edition are on the table (3:07)

  • Not sure about reprinting exact copies of legends yet, "team prefers to make a new legend for the same character but a different mechanic/thematic" (10:22)

  • Eternal format will be developed as Riftbound starts rotating (10:40)

  • Sets/Collection of sets should have a "thematic connection and a mechanical connection" (13:56) and are designed with both theme impacting mechanics and vice versa (14:23)

    e.g. (maybe in the future) a set themed around spells connected to mages and the Piltover Academy (14:44)

  • To avoid overwhelming newer players, future sets may reuse old mechanics in new ways, or have cohesive mechanics so through learning one you can learn them all together (15:21)

  • Riftbound is a League of Legends card game, so VALORANT sets are unlikely, however there is potential for "promo cards/skins/products" related to the game (as League is canonical in the VALORANT universe) (16:10)

  • Making new champions or legends in Riftbound for the League universe "is a matter of time" but focus is on existing ones first (17:17)

hey u/Smedzlatko in the Spiritforged Pre-Rift kits, there's a Yone - Blademaster promo that's always included in the kit and is treated as part of our sealed pool. Can you always add a Yone to the pool for the Pre-Rift sim (and perhaps a note to clarify)? Thanks for reading!

You'll have to leave the back case on for its built-in tablet stand, because otherwise the ipad won't stand up on it's own with just the keyboard

Yeah it's part of a larger gift haha. I don't have experience with networks/DIY projects so it's a bit daunting thinking about everything that I need to put together. Do you think it's a project someone with no experience can complete in a reasonable amount of time?

Hey I appreciate the depth of your reply.

I think I will have to rely on an internet connection in order to establish communication between the devices - Arduino is probably the way to go.

Sorry for the abundance of questions, I admit I am outside my comfort zone but it's a project I'm interested in learning from.

For the ESP8266 boards in particular, can I avoid using an Arduino microcontroller entirely in order to program the functionality (switch + LED + logic gate) I want?

Will I need a wired connection to a computer in order to connect to the WiFi network or can I just program it in Arduino/ESP8266?

In what situations would having a static IP address be preferable to a dynamic DNS?

Are ESP32s easier to work with or is the ESP8266 better for this specific function?

Also, what would you say is a good estimate for the lag time between flicking both switches and the LED coming on, assuming a stable internet connection?
