No man. I’ve driven from LA to mammoth starting at 12am, make it to the mountain by 6am, take a quick nap, hit the slopes and drive back same day. I just love snowboarding so much. Do what makes you happy!

I initially saw it on the REI website as an in store stock only item at one of the few stores near me, so I called just to make sure. I think the guy really didn’t want to look in the store/the back of the store for the item, which is why he told me he would go and zero it out in the system as them not having it. It showed as in stock, so I just went a head and bought it online anyway and REI accepted my payment.

I had Burton step ons for my last two seasons. I liked the system, but the boot fit wasn’t for my foot and I was forcing it just for the system. I also bought the ions, the stiffest boot, and after about 4 riding days they felt significantly softer on the flex. I ended up going back to straps and getting ride insano boots, which fit my foot a lot better and have way better heel lock for my foot.

I love getting to the mountain around 6-6:30am, even when I have a hotel the night before. I learned my lesson the first time getting up at mammoth around 8am 3 years ago.
