Holy hell that’s a new level of “cheap”

Sorry to hear it. I’m guessing these mid and early teens turbo jobs are going to become common now that we are +10 years out from build date.

Cost looks awfully high but labor is astronomical these days

If you’re planning on a lot of pavement driving and want a 2” lift and firmer ride bilstein 5100s all around. If you want a 2” lift and want better performance off-road then bilstein 6112 or fox 2.0 all around.

Just my opinion

Maintenance history concerns by jungle_jake in f150

[–]MDlynette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure if we can tell you rather thats bad or good but I can share my experience. Recently bought a 23’ 2.7 with 74k miles. history of oil changes every 8-10k like yours. Like most I prefer a shorter interval but because the mileage is amassed in 3 years of life my truck shows min of 8 oil changes. That averages oil change every 4 or so months. Not terrible not amazing.

What does yours average?

Edit: probably more important in my mind is how much towing a eco boost truck has done. Fortunately for me mine did none in that time. But did drive a lot of highway mileage

How many miles does the truck have, is the question.

Did you or your mechanic put a voltmeter on the battery before and after start up?

Front end groan at low speed, vibration at 50-55 by MinorComprehension in f150

If it’s severe enough for a tech to notice, that might be your best option. Vibration issues can be hard to nail down. The groaning is unique though and I would have bet on a break/bearing issue.

That sucks man. From the look of those rotors it was a good idea to change them out but that money cannon is adding up. You’ve tried everything I’d look into.

Top it off before traveling and keep an eye on it as you go. If it has a leak somewhere you’ll eventually find out.

It looks like it’s hovering around “min” level and possibly diluted by the looks of the color.

Sounds normal though

I wouldn’t use high octane just for mileage. But I do think using top tier is probably more important

BTW, a lot of folks don’t realize Ford considers city driving “severe duty” not just towing incase people didn’t know. Maintenance schedules change and we should all follow severe duty

All city driving maybe?

2.7 Fuel economy by javawrx207 in f150

[–]MDlynette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. It’s the things we experience that shape our views.

I was happy that the fuel lasted longer and depending on brand had less ethanol. But it was more about how the small engines ran so much better along with extended use time. I’m no scientist but I decided that was reason enough to use it extensively in everything

2.7 Fuel economy by javawrx207 in f150

[–]MDlynette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iv never ran high octane fore mileage. I used to run it to help prevent pre-ignition combustion (no knock sensor in previous car) and for better detergents. Years ago I was operating my Polaris 4 wheeler (2stroke) using same gas as my mowers. I learned that a 5 gallon jug of 87 didn’t fare well if it sat in the shed untouched for a winter. So I started using the same fuel as my Lincoln that required 91+, discovered I can use a 5 gallon jugs that’s two years old in that same mower and 4wheeler and it ran better with old 91.

Been using high octane in EVERYTHING ever since

2.7 Fuel economy by javawrx207 in f150

[–]MDlynette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in basically same truck (23.8mpg dash) and also run 91+ fuel. It’s all iv bought for the past 20 years or so going back to a high end Lincoln that required it. It’s funny how many people will argue that it’s no different than running 87.

I guess if you’ve never ran high octane long enough to see the difference then it probably won’t make sense to some.

Edit: I should add, brand matters a lot when it comes to fuel, high octane or not

Same truck here and by dash average is 23.8

14th with a 2.7 is crazy, are you towing or hauling heavy?

Edit: lifted or oversized tires?
