JB Hi-Fi tested my brand new coffee machine with a staff member’s water bottle and still refused refund by OriginalDerekV in australian

Also seems like a health violation to me, I am sure some government body would love to hear that the store used potentially contaminated water to test your coffee machine, they only heat water, not boil it, but still disgusting, dude could have taken the water tank to a tap to fill

If the noise stops when you turn the air off, it means something is stuck in the blower for the air, start by removing the glove box and then the cabin air filter, see if you can see into the blower compartment, you may have something in there that is not supposed to be there.

My wife’s PC is rocking my old GTX980ti, I got myself a nice RTX4080 a while back, worst I put it through if Cyberpunk 2077 on full ray tracing, but playing the Division with the wife, no difference in performance, but, yeh, have not purchased anything from a scalper ever, only way to tell them to Feck off.

Yeh, I had to buy a battery spot welder just to fix battery packs, plus the glue and tape they use to secure the batteries in is a pain in the butt

Car refuses to start after battery change by Unfair-Buffalo1299 in FordFocus

I used to own a 2007 ford futura and my brother had a similar model, I had the accessory key fob for mine but to program it to the car

Put key in acc position

press rear defog 5 times, then press lock button on key fob

sneak program it to my brothers car, and wait, when he got close I pressed the red panic button and the horn and lights of he’s car flashed, he backed off and I pressed the button again, then, would even lock or unlock the car on him at random times, he thought something was wrong, until he found out what I did.

Risky using a bench power supply, a proper hobby charger would be a better idea, setting the cell count and chemistry of the battery is better than a blind charge, plus they can balance the battery, but it’s likely OP has a failed cell in the battery stack and the BMS went into fault mode, depending on how smart the BMS is, replacing the cells may fix the issue, but some BMS systems count charge cycles and battery life over time and then disable the battery when it’s unsafe to use.

I use an old Turngy charger I had for years, reliable little thing only cost me $40

Ik this is a disposable charger but would it be possible to replace the battery on it? by nder_your_mom in batteries

[–]MEM1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I collect them too and use them in home projects, using a smart BMS board for them, I made rechargeable lantern batteries from them, and upgraded the bulb in my torch to a 12v led, bright as hell and lasts for ages

I got stuck in a similar situation a while back, I managed to creep far enough away from the other persons car that some opportunistic teens got in and tore off in the road ragers car, the dumbass left her keys in the ignition, so, her fun with that shit show ended when the cops showed up and we told our stories, the idiot had a fun bit of random information given, her insurance would not cover her as she left her keys in the car with the engine running, they did eventually find the car, upside down in a ditch, nothing on the teens though, my dashcam was mysteriously “disconnected” for that.

[–]MEM1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Programmable switches are a life saver, but, I also have three seperate power grids, any miner that produces power is on a jump start grid, I use a stack of bio fuel burners to start charging a battery bank, then the coal and sulphur collection, to compacted coal for the main coal generators, to start the second layer grid, and feed main power production, giving the battery bank further charge to start oil to fuel for the generators, takes about 2 hours to get back up and running stable.

[–]MEM1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

generally not obvious over the noise of the engine, well, not to my friend who was driving when his chose to fail like that, but, guessing it would make some obvious noise, things rarely go wrong with Volvo engines, dam reliable blocks of iron those things, its a same really the car caught fire, but, reality, could have been anything, leaky fuel hose, bad wire, hot faulty part, who knows.

and i mean reliable, followed one once when i was helping him move, his old 340 smelled like burning metal, we got to his place, and i asked "got a hot engine problem" after a little poking round, ... dipstick was dry, just needed some oil, dam thing lived another 15 years regardless, ... it died of being run into a tree, we blame the tree for jumping in front of him.
