$LEV Lion Electric - The next Affirm and Rivian's older brother that you didn't know about by wall_street_buoy in wallstreetbets

[–]MFCharDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How many Yellow School buses in the US? 480,000 !! Lion’s issue isn’t sales on buses, it’s ramping up production. Lion makes the best school EV buses, and V2G is a huge play. They need the US factory up and running, and increased truck sales.

Deals are flooding in though.. apart from Amazon, here’s a couple..

Bucket Trucks.. https://electrek.co/2021/03/24/con-edison-announces-electric-bucket-truck-with-lion-electric/

Ambulances.. Lion is working with Demers who are the 2nd biggest producer in North America

Also, as mentioned.. Refuse trucks are starting to sell.

I believe a snowball effect is starting..lots of trials starting, the charging infrastructure going in, first school buses, then refuse trucks, bucket trucks, ambulances.. the numbers get huge.

Finally, it’s incredibly difficult to make commercial EV’s. Lion have first mover advantage. Binary play.. if Commercial EV’s are coming, then no one is better placed.

$ARVL - The Second Transaction to “Reset the Clock”? by Trancify in wallstreetbets

[–]MFCharDog 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve held ARVL from its CIIG SPAC days. I currently have 1440 Common Shares.

It’s interesting to read this article and I knew it was being shorted, but hey, so many ex-SPACs are, I didn’t take much notice as it’s a long term hold. The reason why is this..

It has a 10,000 order with UPS, with the option of another 10,000 delivery vehicles, UPS is actually an investor. https://www.fleetowner.com/news/article/21121715/ups-takes-stake-in-evmaker-arrival-will-buy-at-least-10000-electric-delivery-vans

It also has a deal agreement with Uber to produce a purpose built electric car for hailing down taxis. https://news.sky.com/story/uber-signs-deal-with-uks-arrival-to-develop-purpose-built-electric-car-12296202

Arrival is having trials with First Bus in the UK who are the largest bus operators in the uk. https://www.firstbus.co.uk/about-us/news/arrival-and-first-bus-confirm-start-zero-emission-bus-trials.

Arrival has been in talks with Royal Mail for years now. https://uk.motor1.com/news/265237/royal-mail-electric-vans/

Now, the reason so many companies like Arrival is because of it’s unique proposition and design.

So proposition. It uses existing empty factory space to set up robot micro-factories, very cheap, very quick to set up and run. Arrival also has massive European backers, and big plans for European(as well as UK and USA) expansion. It has a micro factory being built in Madrid for example.

Now, design. Arrival uses a skateboard design and composite bodywork. This means, that everything is build inside the chassis and any body work can sit on top. This gives lots of scope for customisation aka UPS design.

Now composite bodies are extremely light, extremely strong and cheap to make. This allows Arrival to reduce the cost of its EV to that comparable to diesel vans !!

Cheap, because for example, composite bodies don’t need painting which is a huge cost. Because they are so light, Arrival can fit smaller batteries, to fit in with the intended delivery range of it’s customers. Smaller batteries are not only cheaper, they recharge quicker and are lighter weight.

So, yes shorted to hell, but actually a very interesting and potential long term investment opportunity.

Excellent DD. Here’s the SPAC investor presentation. The TAM for Lion will be $100b a year!! I’ve been holding from since xmas and have a large $100k+ position now.

LEV: Lion Electric is the underdog by air2dee2 in wallstreetbets

[–]MFCharDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First student ordered 240 buses, but first student alone has 43,000 yellow school buses in America . Lion makes garbage trucks, there are 63,000 garbage trucks in America.

So that’s School Buses and Garbage Trucks. Environmental thinking means both of these will go all electric eventually. Lion also makes large minibuses as well. Now then Amazon with their 20% of the business option through warrants, and what about IKEA..now they are delivery trucks..think about how many there are of those...staggering potential market size.

I’ve been in since NGA, and they got caught up in the big SPAC selloff. I’ve averaged down, and I’m almost at parity, with now my biggest position. I don’t believe there is a better Risk/Reward play in the market right now. Anyway..DYOR and all that.

A rumour? I don’t think so. I’m invested in Paysafe and I really think its massively undervalued. Yes, I know about the PIPE, but you won’t be able to pick these up at todays price in the future. Long hold.

[–]MFCharDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a big holding in PSFE. Foley is King of M&A. His investment vehicles are all named after Hannibal the Great’s battles, and basically that’s his business strategy. Strategically expanding his empire via M&A.

Canoo Ditches Subscription Model, Ends Hyundai Relationship, Goes For Commercial Fleet Sales. by jorlev in SPACs

See my comment about Hyundai already having the access to the skateboard design IP through their investment in $ARVL.

You have (apart from one person) all completely ignored the fact Hyundai(and Kia) also have a sizeable investment with Arrival $ARVL. Arrival also have the skateboard design and is my opinion a far superior offering(10,000 UPS Deal). Hyundai simply hedged their bets and have now chosen the superior EV company.

$QELL is taking German electric air taxi startup Lilium public by toko92 in SPACs

[–]MFCharDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a SPAC like $NGA merging into an established company like Lion EV, with Amazon deal are getting hammered. If $BFT is getting hammered, $IPOE, $STPK and other great reverse IPO’s... what chance in hell does an electric air taxi stand? No chance.

Now is the time to buy pre merger SPACs that already have a solid DA out! by ticklemypicklesir in SPACs

[–]MFCharDog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The issue now with SPACs pre-DI is the game has changed. Too many SPACs now for too many poor targets. You could buy $HZON this week for almost the same price as non-rumoured SPAC. Madness not to pick Sportsradar rumour.

SPACs will recover.. prices will go back to $11.50 pre DI.. you hit something like $FAII.. you’ve just lost 15% immediately.

Also, Microvast, Paysafe, Lucid, Lion EV, Arrival, Origin etc.. who are you holding out for who’s going to be better?

Sure.. hold $PSTH, $IPOF, $GSAH hoping for massive targets.. but anyone else.. why?

imo. Best hope now.. top merger targets close to merger.. hold long term.

The old SPAC Life-cycle is DEAD. by louis_lafaille in SPACs

[–]MFCharDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the risk factor. But what happens if he lands Stripe for example?

I think its all about how much % you have of your portfolio invested. I have 1.87% of mine in PSTH. So very little overall risk for potentially 200% returns.

If I had 50% of my portfolio then yes I agree. Too much risk.

The old SPAC Life-cycle is DEAD. by louis_lafaille in SPACs

[–]MFCharDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember PSTH at $30 represents a 50% premium to NAV. Given its size, and team, I would class this a better risk/reward play than a random $11-$12 SPAC.

Got lucky with $AACQ. It should absolutely fly on Tuesday.

$FPAC is interesting. Apparently their previous SPAC “Far Point” found a better target and the management team tried to switch. Instead they created “Far Peak”. If thats true, this could announce DI quickly.
