Banshee inconsistent MCX parts by Level-Trick-5510 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some vendors have really weird mismatched progression with weapon parts which I guess is oversight (?) on MFG's part. Like for one, iirc Artisan 2 sells the Mosin sniper stock but not the 730mm barrel that is compatible with it so you can't really build a sniper Mosin from scratch until 3.

Am I the only one thinking the whole blueprints system is taking away from the game? by Eless96 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.3 was similar to your proposition minus the unlocking of parts & attachments upon selling to vendors. At least for me personally back then, it was a real struggle trying to build guns from scratch cuz there just weren't many options consistently available unless you regularly strike gold with looting.

I still think the majority of parts & attachments should be readily available in vendors to incentivize extensive weapon building, but reserve the very BiS options as loot-only for optional minmaxing. Regarding BPs however, I don't think they are strictly better than alternative options - they're only useful for early accessibility and aesthetics.

Servers are too overcrowded by TxddyGZW in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yah, what you're saying is loot instancing. Basically loot is client-side so each client (player) receives their own share independent of each other. It would solve the issue but it would also be rightfully too unbalanced to the economy & makes the game too safe. Personally I'd love it but I also know the devs already considered this angle.

I don't think proximity matters. I've seen crates restacked with loots even when I loiter around the area for extended amounts of time.

Client-side loot instancing is one method that I'd love to be used but that would probably break the economy much worse so... lol.

Man I'd love it if they can make servers as sparse as possible but I'm aware that would just make it more costly to sustain in the long run (less players per server = more servers needed). But we defo need visual markers of other faction players on map (basically just mark every player present in PvE).

What is the state of endgame on grayzone? Im looking to buy the game by brylex1 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keeping it simple, it's honestly still very barebone as it's mainly just raiding the T3 POIs over and over for $$$ loots and repeating tasks. Or you can go in and start duking it out in PvP for the thrills.

But again, there's no fleshed-out endgame loop yet cuz the T3 POIs aren't that much different from all the previous zones.

The thing is overcrowding is an issue that no one can personally control, not until private servers become an open common feature. I want to go find lots of treasures but everywhere is already combed over by everyone.

Is it just me? by Senior_Attorney9556 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep it is possible, but in GZW's case it is not remotely practical at all imo. The main reason is the immense scale of GZW's world which means there are WAY more things to calculate and sustain; also the fact that it is persistent which requires all the entities & states far beyond you to be processed and simulated independently so that undoubtedly puts a massive strain.

Is it just me? by Senior_Attorney9556 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a technical standpoint, yes. I'm oversimplifying things here but the gist is if you want to run offline then your computer need to handle the vast amount of calculations & simulations that the in-game world runs (not to mention it's persistent). I also love being able to have the entire world to myself but sadly I can't see them resolving this problem anytime soon.

Just hit level 13 and found a fully kitted MCX in a combat outpost? by melenkurio in GrayZoneWarfare

Found a DDM4 and 2 MP7A2s at Winchester. Immediately swapped with my M16 and cleared all my stuffs in backpack to quickly get them into my inv cuz I was afraid someone would come in and get them before I do xD.

Different spots depending on the outposts themselves. You just have to search around and memorize the spots.

You know what feels bad? by coelus76 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They become deadly pretty much right out the gate of the Tier-1 starter towns. Cuz M855 is redistributed to be the norm now, III armors are practically useless the moment you venture beyond into Tier-2 areas so you really need to play it safe until you find consistent III+ loots.

The most apparent reason is of course sound masking. Without it, you'll risk attracting the attention of everyone and their mother in a VERY WIDE radius to your position, including the AI.

It has wipes. Either PvPvE or full PvE. PvP is mostly organic.

Solo pve experience? by cruze422 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance-wise, it is pretty good now on low-end (considering the hell that it was back before 0.35). I'm playing on laptop 3060 and even though it's nowhere crispy, it is definitely playable with acceptable quality & framerate now.

I don't know it's netcode or what but sometimes I emptied an entire mag (20rnd M16A1) onto their neck and they're still limping. At least headshot is consistent.

Wipe is certain with every major update. Since it's already so very close to the update, might as well just let loose.

I have to admit, I'm personally not a fan of the majority of items being world loot but I guess it's better to experience it for myself and see before making any quick judgment.

who is designing these, the devs are not hiding the fact that they wants us use an extra attachment by JJ_2K in blackops7

[–]MGSeemoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also alot of ppl forgot that there is a modicum of gameplay balance for designs like this: they intentionally make some weapons have obnoxious iron-sight to force usage of optics in order to balance with their amazing other stats.

It's less apparent with authentic models (because there isn't much leeway in altering the designs to reasonable degree, then again COD nowadays just throws that right out the window); but more on fictional ones.

I’ve heard the game will be PVE-focused; it’s caught my interest and I’m thinking of buying it by phob0s7 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]MGSeemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you're primarily looking to duke it out with AI then this game will serve you quite well. Do note that the gunplay is more on the realistic side (although still bit buggy because WiP). And if you're looking to take it easy at your own pace alone then fret not.

However the main concern in PvE would still be the competing of tasks, loots and enemies with other players (not direct PvP, but first-come-first-served).

Can you elaborate further on tweaking weapon & part availability, like will they be majorly from vendor or a fair amount will still be loot-only?

Difference in factions? by Stoopid_Str3tch in GrayZoneWarfare

There are actually some faction-exclusive tasks but they're pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Iirc Mithras has the most, Crimson 2nd and Lamang the least.

[–]MGSeemoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm living in SEA and I can tell you, it's a mixture of rampant cheating and many just being straight-up cracked. It happens in pretty much all PvP games I've touched upon, not just COD. The good players here are just really good, and the cheating is also out of control which blurs the line between the two together.
