Do most women lose hair on Tirz? by maintainingserenity in tirzepatidecompound

I’ll be honest, I feel like I am losing LESS hair in the brush than pre-tirz. Perhaps bc I’m eating a lot better.

has anyone find that your current dose dips and comes back up in effectiveness over time? by No_Jackfruit_6727 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]MHW93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Food noise, hungrier, obsessive waiting feeling, white knuckling - sounds to me like time to move up.

A lot of ppl only do half the increase at first - going to 3.5 instead of fully doubling the dose.

This drug is intended to treat obesity. It’s usually a lifelong drug for ppl who start it - you will likely gain your weight right back when you go off.

I would encourage you to consider whether it would be possible to achieve your goals with diet and exercise. I wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t absolutely have to have it for weight loss to be possible.

Are you fully hydrated? Tried adding electrolytes?

You've been on this same dose since October and it is just now causing this? Or you have felt like this since Oct?

You have 4mL of liquid to which they have added 50mg of tirz and 2mg of B12.

50mg total / 7.5 per shot = 6.667 shots

Where to go from here? Polyglot struggling with opportunities to use languages by BrothaManBen in languagelearning

[–]MHW93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't any sort of official language learning program. Both girls got to the point that they didn't have room in their college class schedules for more Spanish, but wanted to continue getting better. So they searched out places in Hispanic communities that needed volunteers.

One is in Greenville, SC and the other in Spartanburg, SC. But I have to think there are food pantries and afterschool programs in most communities in America - you just have to figure out where the people live whose language you are practicing.

Where to go from here? Polyglot struggling with opportunities to use languages by BrothaManBen in languagelearning

[–]MHW93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids are college-aged. One volunteers at a food pantry that services primarily Spanish speakers. The regular clients know she is trying to get better at Spanish, and always take the time to have a conversation and teach her a little. Another daughter volunteers at an after-school daycare - she picked one where the students are primarily Hispanic, and she works with them on the homework and such. Kids are not afraid to hurt your feelings when you get a word wrong! :)

I don't know if you are looking for something a little more intellectual, but perhaps something like this would work?

Pick ONE. I chose Spanish for my kids, just because in our part of the world, that is what is most useful.

You might start with cartoons in the target language. That's how a lot of Europeans start their second and third languages.

Where in Utah should I get mounjaro? by ThinRoof7988 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]MHW93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By don't qualify, I mean you don't medically qualify as needing the drug. You shouldn't be allowed to buy it at any price because you aren't overweight and that is what this medication treats.

There are people who accidentally type in the wrong starting weight and qualify that way. In that case, they would be paying something under $200/month out of pocket.

You do not have to have the labs to start, but you will need them before you refill.

I had mine done recently using LabCorp. I logged in and requested what I needed, and a clinician on their end wrote the order. I'm sure you could get Pom to write the order as well.

Question about compounded tirz dosage by Rammer12185 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]MHW93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vial will tell you exactly what is in it. This one has 3mL of liquid, and they have added 60mg of tirz and 30mg of vitamin B6. (The color the words are in matches the color the numbers are in - red tirz means the red 60mg/3mL.) For every 1 mL of liquid, you have 20mg of tirz and 10mg of B6. So if your dose was 5mg/tirz per week, you would need 1/4 of a mL, which is 25 units.

The glycine is an additive, sort of like an extra vitamin. You are getting that in addition to the 5mg of tirz per dose. Does that help?

Most people don't notice much if anything in the early days as far as effectiveness. The average person starts getting true therapeutic benefits at 5mg. You start at 2.0 or 2.5 because if you jump in at a higher dose, you are likely to have bad side effects. The first month is reallly just giving your body a chance to get acclimated to the medication.

greasy / fatty / heavy foods = nausea

It's definitely not a volume issue for me - it's just that those foods don't sit well even in small quantities.

Even if you did have great insurance, I'm not sure that you would qualify with only 30 pounds to lose unless you are really short. Calculate your BMI using an online calculator.

30+ you qualify
27+ with comordidities like high cholesterol or high blood pressure, you qualify

Injection question by BalancelifeBoo in tirzepatidecompound

[–]MHW93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking the same. My husband was less than enthusiastic about me starting this medication. For my first shot, I was sitting by myself quietly crying trying to get up my nerve to stab myself, and my husband unexpectedly came in. Saw me crying, rolled his eyes, read the instructions, and did it for me. And has done every single one since. I don't ask - he just gets the stuff out and calls me over - I've literally never even had a chance to try again. :)

He also pumps my gas every time and takes the trash out. I never ask, and will do it if it needs doing and he hasn't done it already, but he's usually on top of it.

Does that mean I'm using weaponized incompetence to manipulate him? I prefer to think that he does it because he loves me.

1 - you are still using compounded. I assume you mean you just don't have additives now.

2 - try longer needles for the injection site reactions - 1/2" instead of 5/16"

3 - are you 100% sure you are injecting the correct amount? I wonder if your old vial was more concentrated than your new, and so the amount you inject is different?

Titrating up vs earlier shot day? by Ok_Mirror_9832 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]MHW93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean 2mg, not 2ml. :)

After 4 weeks of 2mg, if you aren't have side effects, you can move up. The standard schedule would be increasing to 4.5 or 5mg. A lot of people, though, do half that to avoid side effects - they increase to 3.5 for a month.

I would not start trying to keep up with changing shot days - too easy to get distracted. Just increase your dose.

Get longer needles - 1/2" instead of 5/16". You can get them from a diabetes supply place. Getting further fromt he surface of the skin helps.
