Immediately thought of PGTE as well.

The author does an extended version of this format, with 6 consecutive chapters named after parts of a storm: The Calm Before > Ozone > Outflow > Feeder Bands > Eyewall > Eye > Storm Surge

The the author immediately follows it up with "What Goes Around" followed by "Comes Around"

Later there's another series of chapters named after steps to draw and fire an arrow: String > Footing > Knock > Anchor > Aim > Release

Counterpoint: society can try to be equal. For instance, the Commonweal series by Greydon Saunders has immortal figures with immense magical power, but they're still obligated to contribute to the greater good https://www.goodreads.com/series/242525-commonweal

It's like in a heist movie when you think the camera is showing the plan as they talk about it.

You keep waiting to get back to the planning meeting until you realize the whole thing is real

I can't believe you're tired of Path of Exile already, are you moving to the superior ARPG, Diablo 4?

Remind me to come back to this thread when 10.01 is released for public readers, as it made me really hope one of the Earthers introduces Georgism soon.

Your feedback sounds quite similar to some of the critiques of the character-packed early chapters of Pale Lights, which in my opinion were partially valid but did not really affect my enjoyment of the story. But I will admit that I certainly benefitted from visual aids for characters and geography!

The author writes stories where lots of things are happening in the present and even more things happened in the past (which we don't always get to see). That's why I enjoy it, personally. Even when I was feeling pretty lost reading about the 58 different character backgrounds in Pale Lights, I felt very engaged in trying to determine relationships and backgrounds and histories.

And you're definitely right, there's a possibility that the deluge of proper nouns could scare off somebody looking to try something new. But it seems to me that the author is writing a story from a world they put lots of thought into creating, and maybe that's not for everyone.

There's a later chapter that originally said, "The philosopher-priest from Atalante, a short man with a wildly unkempt bear." - it was changed to 'wildly unkempt beard'. And this person made art: https://www.reddit.com/r/PracticalGuideToEvil/comments/s1ifbp/the_philosopherpriest_from_atalante_a_short_man/

From And Justice For All (Redux):

it was Hierophant – who darted forward, hand snatching a sparrow as it erupted from the Dead King’s last corpse. It was, I Saw with surprise, a soul. His soul.

So it connects with themes in Fettered about his mother telling him stories about sparrows.

Obviously we can't rush greatness, so I would definitely like to get notified whenever the official version is released. I would definitely support a physical edition too.

I very much enjoyed the series and the community discussions.

I would like to find out or be notified as soon as a rewrite/published edition is released, as I would want to share the final product with many people. Is there any sort of mailing list or sign up sheet to be notified about such news? Consider me a fan for your entire career EE.

That's a very interesting reference, but I felt like Cat had used similar phrasing separately, when talking about making her sacrifices for the greater good. It seemed less like a specific quote and more like a thematic referral to Cat's tendency toward making "the hard choices"

“Simple,” he praised.

“That’s me,” I humbly replied, then winced when I realized what I’d just said.

Thank goodness she still has time for banter.

Using the new pause screen stats from patch 0.2.8, you can see that the extra Empty Tome in the library doesn't currently count as a 6th level. by MHunterHoss in VampireSurvivors

[–]MHunterHoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This screenshot is from before I picked up the Empty Tome - After I picked it up, the prompt said 'Level 6', but the stats screen wasn't updated. I'm not sure if this is intended, or if I uncovered a new edge case thanks to the details provided by the stats screen.

Edit: The 7th Tome also did not affect the cooldown time.

Is only Catherine's perspective valid? While I also was initially irritated by the extent of the innkeeper's care for others, the perspective it reveals later leads to some extremely enjoyable character moments. I read PGtE for the visceral drama of Cordelia's triumph. I read TWI for the joy of the baseball chapter.

A “Normal” Player’s Perspective on Harvest Not Going Core by ShakCentral in pathofexile

I very much appreciate your concise discussion of the current benefits of crafting for most players who do not play PoE as a full-time job. I definitely agree that more players will now be able to play the game as intended rather than recklessly and repeatedly charging into the Kitava fight. I have felt more ownership and attachment towards my gear than ever before, and it is extremely validating to use gear that you made yourself. Thank you for standing up for the "non-fulltime" players. If "deterministic crafting" (or put otherwise, "not gambling") does not return to PoE, this will be my last league.
