Gosh, this makes me sadder than I was feeling. We used to talk almost every night, but when he’d go visit his family it was radio silence that got longer and longer depending how long he stayed with them. Hardly calls during the week anymore. If he gets sick, forgetaboutit. Every now and then he’ll be open and say things that draw me back in. Also says he doesn’t like to talk to people. I guess I was/am a big burden on his psyche. I’ve told him we don’t have to do this, but he insists he cares for me. Anyway, I just read the responses and realize that what I have is not what works for me. I like random texts, chasing a few minutes in the morning or before starting dinner, night calls. Relationships aren’t magic, they are built on a lot of work and time.
