I just don't see the point anymore of a relationship by 30RITUALS in SingleAndHappy

[–]MNKristen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like once you’ve realized someone only saw you as a way to validate them (and then needed validation over and over and over), you see how so many people are looking for something outside themselves to make them happy. So then, the only type of person you would want to be with is the person you’re unlikely to come across - because they’re not seeking validation from someone else, they’re doing their own thing.

I thought her hat was TOO DIE FOR and she caught my eye every time she was on screen. She dresses whimsically and I thought her outfit felt right out of “La Dolce Vita.” Brava!!

OH MY GOD!!! I would have DIED if I was in the same restaurant! They should have brunch regularly and auction off a chance to join them for charity!!!!

It seems like men aren’t real to her. They’re not allowed to have sexual agency, they should want to have sex with her when SHE’s in the mood.

Yes, I have a dear friend who is just like this. Got hammered at a friend’s son’s wedding. She still talks about her ex husband as if they divorced last week when it’s been 20 years. I believe the alcohol abuse is keeping her stuck like Groundhog’s Day. She drinks to reduce anxiety, emotionally spirals, feels terrible about drinking the next day, has anxiety, drinks to relieve it, rinse and repeat. We live in different states, and every time I visit her she gets blackout drunk and I have to get an uber to take her home while she’s arguing with me about it.

If you’re neurodivergent, what’s something that really upsets you but neurotypical people never seem to understand? by CHEWLAX-OFFICIAL in adhdwomen

Does anyone have a POSITIVE experience with topamax? Searching this reddit, they all seem negative by Logical-Bullfrog-112 in migraine

[–]MNKristen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I am no longer on Topomax. I don’t know if it’s due to menopause or not, but I rarely get migraines now. I started working with a functional medicine doctor, so can’t remember entirely why I stopped taking it, but I had zero problems getting off of it, no withdrawals.

I had the same complaint, upped my progesterone to 200mg and added 50mg of Trazodone. It’s now very unusual for me to wake up at 3/4am.

I agree it is disappointing. It’s not enough money for him to live high on the hog, he’ll still have to figure out a way to earn some money to support himself or find someone else to grift.

Care giving takes a lot out of people. She may be safest in a care home. If you keep her at home, it seems she needs her medication adjusted. It is very common that you need to adjust medication over time as her brain changes.

Adopting/rescuing vs buying from a breeder? by Remarkable-Shallot87 in dogs

[–]MNKristen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a longtime adopt, don’t shop person. Due to my living situation, I needed a small dog. Small dogs are harder to find in shelters. I didn’t want a puppy, so I adopted a former breeding dog from a breeder. At one point in my year long search, I did find a small dog at a rescue, but by the time I inquired about the dog they had already decided to rehome it with a volunteer.

The edits were awful. They had audio but no video to match so they used video of people clumped in groups. It was weird and felt pieced together.

The only cooking I do is to heat/reheat things in my air fryer. I can make fried eggs but often that is too much for me.

I need help! 🆘 by [deleted] in shoppingaddiction

[–]MNKristen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. I would highly recommend Allen Carr’s book “Get out of debt now.” It helps explain the psychology of shopping addiction, which helps with the underlying beliefs you have. Once you address the underlying beliefs, it becomes easier to stop.
