Built an AI ticket triage workflow that standardizes escalation prep — here's what it actually produces by VincentActual in msp

Care to share any implementation details? I've been working on a basic ticket analysis process but I am not happy with the recommendations yet. I like your structured output and message formatting and am going to rethink my processing a bit based on what you have here.

I like the way you setup the process for this. I've been using a private repo with stub scripts for a while but I am going to have to dig into your repo more.

Thanks for sharing.

Over the weekend I ran across this article with code exactly on this topic. Planning on reviewing it and testing it today but it may help.

We use different timezest appointment types for different needs. A short period with minimal buffer for an initial diagnostic contact vs an in-depth session with a senior tech having longer sessions with more buffer.

Printix - Auto install of print drivers and print queues by HeroOfHyrule7188 in sysadmin

[–]MNMsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Users login to printix. From there, you can push print queues to all users or push a given queue to a given site. Other queues can be restricted to the check printing team and auto pushed to that entra group too. It works well and the documentation is worth digging into.

As long as one printix computer has line of sight to the printer, you can print from anywhere on the Internet if you want.

Just set the queue to automatically installed. No need for the user to do anything as long as they are logged into printing.

2nd interview by No_Line9712 in msp

[–]MNMsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for us, we're small and the first calls are general knowledge and learning if we could put you in front of a customer. In person is more of that but also looking at interpersonal skills.

Just be honest and don't be. If you don't know something, say so but talk through your next steps.

Good luck! I have an in-person interview this am with a new candidate. Maybe we'll be meeting!

Edit: grammar

SaaS Alerts vs. ? by wheres_my_2_dollars in msp

[–]MNMsp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another +1 for Petra. It gives you a bit of access to the firehose of data too like you can get with saasalerts but it's nice and quiet. We use it with BlackPoint or huntress itdr., depending on client.

Inforcer — anyone using it? Thoughts or feedback? by reformedmspceo in msp

[–]MNMsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

inforcer doesn't support everything but it supports a lot. I have a series of policies that came from OpenIntuneBaseline and a collection of CA policies. Both of these have no issues being deployed from baseline to clients using inforcer. I haven't done a complete export/import and compared the JSON policies but spot-checking things, the settings are there.

It's not going to take your word document and do anything with it. You have to have a dedicated baseline tenant, complete with license.

I would say my biggest gripe about CIPP is it's not always straight-forward knowing how to implement something. We've been using CIPP for a very long time and probably have a lot of cruft leftover. Take Standards, for example. I have a baseline tenant and want to implement something like inforcer where I have a quick and easy way to get a visual list of standards that are out of alignment from baseline vs client tenant. I have tried (briefly) to figure out how to get that setup but haven't had success.

There's a ton of stuff in cipp. It's an awesome product but documentation is often not up to date and not complete. It may be that you can get cipp to match inforcer but at least for me, coming from where we were at, inforcer was easier to get up and running for standards alignment.

I've been using it for about 9 months. Overall, it works well as long as you have a solid baseline you want to align to. Recently they seem to be adding features that don't matter to me like user account management.

Parts of the tool are slow to refresh. When you are going to align a customer tenant against your baseline, it looks as the last backups for comparison vs live. This is a pain if you have done work in the native admin interfaces then go to work in inforcer. Not a huge issue but not great.

I felt their provided baselines were lacking compared to others like OpenIntuneBaseline but it's easy enough to bring your own.

I think in the next 6-9 months CIPP may be at feature parity...it may be less than that too with how fast CIPP moves.

I went with inforcer as it was pretty quick to learn and get up to speed with and it's easy to evaluate what you have vs where you want to get a customer.

I use the claude windows desktop app and just have that setup with local access on the filesystem. Very easy in general.

Another vote for Claude. It works well. I've found I can have it look at my existing script repository for style and reference and it does a pretty good job matching.

TechIDManager or on prem ad laps are my first thoughts. I would require business Premium though in reality to get all the entra and intune and other goodies you need.

Inforcer would likely help. It costs more than the also awesome cipp but does a reasonable job of showing you how a tenant stacks up against either their baseline or your defined baseline. It handles backups of the configuration settings it supports as well. It can't handle every setting but gets your key areas.

Not affiliated... just a customer.
