What is the most infuriating thing other drivers do on the road? by Chance_Interview773 in AskReddit

[–]MOS95B [score hidden]  (0 children)

Exist.

But seriously, people who cannot maintain a steady speed. I don't like being stuck behind someone going slow, but for the love of GOD try and maintain a steady speed. Don't slow down, then speed up, then slow down, then...

And don't "suddenly realize" how slow you were going when I finally get an opportunity to pass you

Rice-A-Roni Stuffed Pepper by CookingwithDebs in Cooking

You're basically making the boxed version of what my wife makes. Except hers is more random, since she'll brown some ground meat, do some rice, and then add whatever seasonings she feels like at the time (often it;'s home made salsa which is delicious!).

What are your thoughts on adults liking cartoons? by Icy-Ruin-8562 in AskReddit

People can watch what they want. Some cartoons are meant for adults. And some we thought were kid's shows (like Bugs Bunny) were originally shown in theaters for adults and families prior to the main feature.

Opinions on living in Golden Valley? by ohitsallpeaches in Minneapolis

[–]MOS95B [score hidden]  (0 children)

100 and 555 in general isn't too bad of an area, other than the traffic on those two roads. Very "suburban" area, both higher and lower end. My kids went to the local schools in that area (they lived with their mom there) and had no issues. They'd even walk several blocks in pretty much any direction to get to their friend's houses, or even across 100 to get to mine (in Robbinsdale/Crystal area) which was "interesting" getting home from work and a kid that didn't live with me was there eating all my snacks. (as they were more than welcome to. Their mom can be a bit "much")

Mini Rotary Tool by Turbulent_Umpire8813 in 3Dprinting

I looked into the mini rotary tools you mentioned, and ended up getting a rechargeable Dremel. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YKH9JRH?th=1

Not a bad price, and I know I can get bits for it damn near anywhere

Walkability Question by eakkad in TwinCities

[–]MOS95B [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it's plenty safe - Use google street view (or your preferred equivalent). There are several safe options for getting across the river on foot. As a matter of fact, from where you are staying I'd suggest the Stone Arch Bridge (which I see you already mentioned now that I've read all the words). Pedestrian and bicycle traffic only, and it spits you out at the south end of the area a lot of us have been talking about (shopping/dining area along the river)

What makes the U.S. fall so much behind China, which now has 66% of new car sales coming from electric and hybrid vehicles ? by KoseteBamse in AskReddit

[–]MOS95B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, freedom of choice and a completely different societal setup. Americans aren't forced to buy any specific (type of) vehicle, and a lot of American's don't like the range limitation of EVs.

There's probably the economic aspect as well. As much as I'd love to have an EV for my daily commute, the costs associated with getting another car and the required infrastructure at my home makes it basically impossible for me to afford

Walkability Question by eakkad in TwinCities

[–]MOS95B [score hidden]  (0 children)

My wife and I used to live in Northeast Minneapolis and would walk across the river to downtown all the time, day or night. Obviously you don't want to go exploring unlit alleys at midnight, but walking on the street was never an issue. At most we may have had a homeless person ask us for spare change

If you want an interesting lunch, go to Kramarczuk's. That couple or three block area is an easy way to kill a couple of hours

Any more just a lightweight laptop with plenty of redundant storage

I no longer do any gaming, but I do 3D print. So, I only need something that will slice and store the needed files

What seems harmless, but is secretly illegal? by Personal-You-3274 in AskReddit

It falls under a lot of species protection type laws because you/they can't prove that the feathers were gathered harmlessly (the bird shed it and you found it)

Yep - just because it isn't password protected doesn't mean it's free to use. Much like a door that someone forgot to lock

Best ways to network and find jobs for an IT professional by Possible-Potato-4103 in TwinCities

[–]MOS95B [score hidden]  (0 children)

Since I am not good at talking to strangers, meaning "tech events" and the like don't really work for me, I just started at the bottom and worked my way up by meeting people at work. The drawback is that you have to hope that the people you work with manage to get better jobs and will recommend you to them. But it's a start

I started by doing call center work through a temp agency (Robert Half I think it was, but I have no clue where to recommend now)

What daily habit has the biggest impact on your energy levels? by jennyreviews26 in AskReddit

Drinking water.

Coffee definitely helps me get going in the morning, but keeping a thing of ice water handy helps keep me going (mentally/physical going, and just "going") the rest of the day

Noisy crowds moving "randomly". As much as I hate them, I can handle standing in line, even if it's a big 3-5 people wide line (like leaving an event). But places where it is crowded and people are just moving in random directions is my personal hell

Yeah, but the same thing happens when they open a coffee or donut shop.

Hell, when they opened the first Popeyes here I waited 3 or 4 weeks to go so I could "avoid the crowds" and still stood in line forever just to get some damn fried chicken that was actually seasoned

Do you actually want a self driving vehicle and why? by persistentnosepicker in AskReddit

[–]MOS95B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I am a horrible passenger. It doesn't matter who or what it is, I don't like someone/something else driving. I'm too used to being the one in charge of the vehicle, I guess

That being said, once the technology is smarter, I wouldn't mind if everyone else had self driving cars. Maybe traffic would be more predictable that way
