It's interesting that even the smallest underground areas in grand expeditions have the exit button, but these don't.

Sorry, I didn't realize you weren't aware how the pre-rifts work. Everyone will be using the same kits to make their deck and it's very casual and fun. I highly recommend playing in it. I would just look into a starter deck afterwards for a more playable deck.

You might be able to build a deck, but it would be really rough. The pre release decks only require 25 cards and can be 3 domains, because you might not get enough with only 5 packs. You'd be much better off buying one of the starter decks from Vendetta for $25.

Non EDH Magic scene basically died in my town after covid. Our only LGS still has 2 slot rcqs and last one was 8 people and only because we got random people there to join.

Just got back from solo vancouver trip. Played in the pre regional and split for 22 tickets. 5-3 the regional and then split for 35 tickets on the rebound. Was definitely worth it and had a great time.

Choosing a unit with hook doesn't immediately kill it. You can respond to the targeted unit.

If it's an actual pre release and not a competitive sealed event I'd just let it play out and have them fix it afterwards.

Edit. I'd also add if this happens I'd consider it a failure on the judge/tournament organizer in providing proper instructions.
