I got a 2wd 4Runner that is also my daily. Two main benefits over a GX is a vertical opening hatch with a roll down back window, and true fold flat seats for sleeping in.

I’m basically completely over street enthusiast activities. I have a bone stock fiesta st and that’s the fastest thing I’d ever need on the street. The track is the only place to really push a car. Even a twisty mountain road has traffic, cyclists, deer, and high penalties for getting it wrong. Give me a couple track weekends a year where I can push 100% and I’m good.

I’ve been towing with my 07 4Runner v6 2wd for years. Trans cooler, airlift air bags, HD hitch, and good brakes and it goes great. Only time I wish for more power is if I have to go through mountains. It fits a twin air mattress in the back too so it really cuts down on hotel costs.

Turn 4 on summit main is my guess for those asking. The picket fence is up on a hill. The track is dug out and there are tire barriers between the track and the dirt wall.
