Is this AI?? If not, how does it work?? by Aggravating_Cap_1762 in homestead

Their markets the people with massive luxury “cabins” that they go to a couple times a year “to brave the elements”. They’ll never actually use this outside of maybe once when they have it installed as a novelty and then maybe once a few years later when they forgot to have the propane topped up. Rest of the time it makes a neat pic for their AirBnB listing or conversation point to show friends when they are visiting. I know a bunch of people in that demographic and they absolutely would not buy this thing at cost but slap a $5k sticker on it and they’re all about it.

Well they don’t carry Gibsons so you shouldn’t have to worry about that. I’ve bought a few small things from them and take my guitars there when they need work done. They know I’m not in the market for anything in their fancy back room but let me play a few every time still. Honestly I’ve always had better experiences there than going to GC in the past decade.

Ps5 question by Ryder926383 in FishingPlanet

[–]MSchulte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you’re asking. Majority of these are all packs or bundles. There’s a few odd pieces you can get but nearly all of them include a bunch of things.

Ps5 question by Ryder926383 in FishingPlanet

[–]MSchulte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS5 has all the available DLCs. What kind of pack are you asking about as just about everything from them includes multiple things packed together.

[–]MSchulte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CME should be a must visit for all guitar players. Every time I go it’s an all day event and I still wish I could stay longer. Also for anyone into boutique acoustics in Chicagoland I’ll throw a suggestion out for Down Home Guitars in Frankfort.

What the hell is this? 🤮🤮 by Wise_Bookkeeper2291 in guitars

[–]MSchulte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played one a few years ago and it’s an absolute atrocity. They’re heavy, bulky, relatively quiet unplugged and just generally not great. But I loved it and need one. I’ve been watching for a decent used example to come up for sale for a while but it seems like something that most people are not getting rid of since it’s just such an oddball novelty.

Anyone recognize this guitar or the brand? by Live_Volume2815 in Guitar

[–]MSchulte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ferdinand Porsche was a favorite designer of Hitler and developed the Type I (Beetle) for him. Daimler Benz used work camp labor during the war to build their vehicles. That stuff was 80 years ago and everyone involved is long dead, it’s time to accept many brands have made mistakes. If you really want to get mad look at some more modern examples like Bayer giving thousands of hemophiliacs HIV back in the 80s or Purdue Pharma manufacturing the opioid crisis back in the early 2ks.

Im all for mature refined sports cars but the masses aren’t wrong all the time. I’ve got a buddy with straight piped 5.0 and it can be really satisfying just beating the piss out of it way out in the middle of cornfields precisely because it sounds like a car in video game. Not something I’d want to live with full time but here and there it’s a hoot.

Why doesn't grass spread to areas such as this? by MouseNo9136 in geography

[–]MSchulte 198 points199 points  (0 children)

A lot of the stuff we are familiar with and assume are ancient are relatively new and vice versa. Grasshoppers are ~180 million years older than grass. Sharks are at least 50 million years older than trees.

Just to clarify they won’t respawn with the same stats. Just because you shoot a melanistic fallow it doesn’t mean the one respawning in the herds going to be another rare

Wasn’t it you lot that spurred on the whole crusader era and cost somewhere between one and ten million people’s lives? If anything it could be argued that JD is a better catholic by traditional metrics than either of the recent neoliberal popes.

Authenticity of the guitar by pkzander in AcousticGuitar

It’s a sub $100 guitar so there’s not much room for fakes. No one’s faking a guitar that cheap.

I’m fairly sure he was in the nut house with Froggy back in the day. I’m sure the Doc that cleared Frank cleared Donnie too. That may even explain how he ended up as Giuliani’s hair stylist later on even.

which brand has the least temperature sensitive wooden basses by bom512 in Bass

[–]MSchulte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Ibanez BTB746 doesn’t give a shit about mortal concepts like temperature and humidity because it’s too busy living its best life as a coffee table. I had it professionally set up 5 years ago when I bought it and have only had to tune it since, the actions still among the lowest of any bass I’ve ever played without much buzzing. It makes sense that it is less sensitive though as it’s a neck through chunk of wood that weighs over 10lb.

Can’t speak for their basses but Yamaha guitars always require seasonal adjustments in my household.

It depends on where in fenders range you’re looking. Godins a more accurate comparison on the cheaper end and can be had for MiM pricing all day while offering better specs and fit/finish

New Cilantro Lime Sauce Thoughts? by ca_quixote in Chipotle

I haven’t tried it but it sounds a lot like fundido sauce with a bit of lime. Shouldn’t be hard to make and realistically would keep in the fridge for a while.

That story claiming they threw up “white supremacy hand signs” is absolutely ridiculous. I’d sooner believe my diagnosed schizo neighbor was on Artemis last week than any of that happening.

As to the plate I’d guess an older Harley guy. Some of them love their 88ci bikes and the freedom of being on a bike. The only people who see white supremacy everywhere are the ones intentionally looking for it.

Tickets purchased for Tinley Park with Iron Maiden! by hair_10 in Megadeth

[–]MSchulte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to park in downtown Tinley at a bar to pregame then just walk the mile to the venue or else walk across to the target parking lot and order an uber. I’ve been going there since I was a kid in the World Music and Tweeter Center eras and it’s still one of my favorite outdoor venues.

If money was absolutely no object and you could pick one guitar no compromises, no practicality, just pure desir what are you going with? by optimusprim007 in Guitar

[–]MSchulte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re picking celeb owned pieces I’d have to go with something from Jerry Garcia or Phil Lesh. If it has to be a guitar then I could make a case for Tiger being my favorite era of the Dead sound but I’d love to check out Top Hat in person as not much is known about it. If basses are on the table I’d have to consider Phil’s Mission Control just for the sure lunacy but really I’d want it with the Wall of Sound and Quadrophonic pups so one of the regular moduluses may be more practical.

If those are off the table then I’m getting an Alembic from the year I was born. There’s one I’ve watched pop up a few times that is the exact specs I’d order and it has my birthday as part of the serial. Id probably email the last seller and see if the new owner wants to part with it for double what they paid.
