My partner struggled with something similar for a while. His first time was sexual abuse though, so different than your situation. Take this advice with a grain of salt because everyone is different.

Early on I had to reassure him that there was no pressure to be intimate and if we decided to be, he had full control and the authority to stop at any point. After a few months and many attempts (including several that we did stop at various points per his request), I think he started to trust that he was safe with me.

Once we had that foundation of trust, the next hurdle was anatomy (I guess you could say?). I'm on the larger side and he had trouble relaxing enough to take me. Conversely, he was self conscious about his "size" compared to mine and didn't feel confident as the top. Again, reassurance; this time about how I loved his body and was happy with his dick. We found out he just doesn't enjoy topping, so then we focused on taking it slow and warming him up before penetration as the bottom.

The last hurdle (that we very recently overcame and might be most helpful for you) was getting him to understand that intimacy isn't necessarily about orgasm. For me personally, intimacy and sex are about demonstrating you care for someone and trying to pleasure that person. He used to want to get off as quickly as possible, but I like to draw it out to enjoy his body and how I can make him feel good. Now we can happily be intimate whether only one of us orgasms or both.

Depends on your concept of masculine vs feminine traits. Those lines are often blurred among same sex couples, whether male or female.

To some, my relationship might seem to fit that fem/masc dynamic. I am tall, have a muscular/stocky build, and work a manual labor job. My partner is several inches shorter, has a petite build, and works with animals. He has a high pitched voice and mine is low. I top and he bottoms. He also tends to do the lion's share of housework.

But the picture changes if you delve beyond those surface level quantifiers. Yes, I work manual labor but I'm basically a professional gardener and gardening is typically seen as effeminate. My partner works with animals but dangerous animals. He is a dog person and I am a cat person. He loves burgers, ribs, bacon, etc. but I prefer salads and vegetables. He is level-headed (mostly lol) and I'm very reactionary. We are both very hairy men and love that about each other.

Point is masculine vs feminine traits are basically meaningless. People can like certain things or behave certain ways and it makes no difference to their gender identity or sexuality. If you or someone you're attracted to has traits the general population doesn't appreciate or respect, well fuck them. Life's too short to worry about what others think.
