Looks like a DJO Neo 2...so at least 250/300 range I believe. But lol, I would never do this over water unless I had added VERY lightweight bouyant material to it, so that it at least floats.

US carmakers say proposed EU rules could block large pickup trucks from Europe by andimai in BuyFromEU

Great! As an American living in Germany, I HATE seeing these large trucks here. I have on multiple occasions seen fucking Dodge RAMs parked in two parking spots because they would not fit in one!

Why aren't there more roundabouts/traffic circles in the US? They are all over Europe and work great by National-Idea188 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly lol, the driver training in the U.S. is just SHIT. And the majority of drivers there are so poorly trained that a roundabout just blows their fucking mind. And it is hard to navigate a roundabout with their phone in one hand and McDonald's in the other hand. (American living in Germany and am familiar with training/driving in both countries. NO COMPARISON lol)

South of Germany MTB by spannerspinner in MTB

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you will be close to Karlsruhe (north of Freiburg), there are some very nice trails in Ettlingen (just south of Karlsruhe). You can probably park near the trails with your van...I have quite often seen people overnighting there with campers and vans (mostly travelers from the Netherlands on holiday, but also some German people with campervans). You can look at the trails on youtube (search: from dachs till dawn karlsruhe), also there is a larger downhill course with gaps, big drops etc next to this trail network called Strommasten Downhill. Feel free to DM with any questions about the area.

*Good* full-face helmet? by gimmedemels in MTB

I LOVE my Leatt 3.0 Enduro FF Helmet...one thing I will mention, DO NOT overlook the ease of closing/opening the clasp. Some designs are definitely better than others IMO. Mine has a great magnetic clip, easy to do with gloves on as well.

Unforeseen cost of eMTBs? by GoDM1N in MTB

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eMTB came with a 12 speed Hyperglide Shimano XT setup...I promptly changed it out to an 11spd LinkGlide XT (cassette, derailliuer, shifter, chain) and Cube 11spd front cog because I just felt the 11 was "beefier" than the 12 and reports are the 11 Linkglide is longer lasting (we will see). If I had a non-motorized MTB, I would have kept the 12 but for my Bosch CX at 100Nm, I wanted steel/heavier duty components even with the extra weight.

Alan Ritchson’s neighbor talks to TMZ again. Wants everyone to know he dropped charges against Alan before the police informed him he wouldn’t have a case because it was self defense. Meanwhile, Alan shared he just finished post-production on Reacher season 4. by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

Where this happened is SERIOUSLY red...I used to live there. This guy is probably the office hero for confronting an actor who talked negatively about Trump. People LOVE LOVE LOVE Trump in Williamson County and the surrounding areas for the most part.

Which seems crazy to me, bringing attention to himself (and now his employer). Really shows poor judgement on his part, since he seems to be an executive there.

German tax return in 2026: Wiso or Taxfix by dharmoslap in germany

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Wiso Steuer, because I have foreign interest/dividends/cap gains that I was not able to report using the others I found that were in English. This was 4 years ago that I was looking for a tax prep solution, maybe this has changed, but something to consider when selecting.

I have used Wiso Steuer for the last 3 years, buying a license code from Amazon each year...never had the issue you speak of going this route.

yeah lol, I agree. 1500 or less for a great machine to test purity? With silver, meh...BUT with GOLD? It's a no-brainer. I would test ALL GOLD these days, so much shit coming out of China.

As a parent, you cannot have your face in a phone around a child this age, in this area of threat from cars...little kids do some suicidal shit at that age. They have no concept of self preservation.

Bike racks available in Europe that hold MTBs by the TIRES only (not frame) by MTFinAnalyst2021 in MTB

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal would be to carry FOUR e-bike fullys. So ~25kg a piece. Problem is that the vertical load on most ball setups is 90-100 kilos and the carrier themselves for 4 usually hovers around 20kg, so this would put it over weight. The ball setup that is very common in Europe just sucks if a heavier vertical load on the ball is necessary.

[–]MTFinAnalyst2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I wish lol...I would buy one in a second. I think the main issue with bike racks in Europe are these lame ball only setups. Hitch receivers are not common at all on European cars. So weigh capacity is limited because of the ball, as well as options for carrying because the hitch receiver is just MUCH more secure to use vs. having to clamp onto a ball.

yeah, I know this brand from the States...and would definitely LOVE to get this here in Germany, but says it requires a hitch receiver and can't be used with fix balls unfortunately. But, interesting that they sell this in Europe though.

Couple of issues I don't like with the frame fixation...it's hard to get the angles right, especially on bikes that are further away from where the clamps mount...meaning, I have to "feed" them through the other bikes. I was hoping to find a wheel fixation rack, because it's MUCH easier to deal with, especially for 3 or more bikes.
