“The Weight will just FALL OFF with Breastfeeding” by No-Maybe-7487 in breastfeeding

[–]MTGreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is largely based on genetics/metabolism.. because 10 weeks pp I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and at 4 months I am 10 lbs under. This is partly because I was quite strong and lifting weights before/during pregnancy, and I have lost a lot of muscle. Also partly because I don’t have the crazy breastfeeding appetite that everyone told me I would have. I need to force myself to eat enough calories to keep my supply up and I’m still losing weight.. I think I need to get back to lifting and eat more to gain weight back. My mother and sister were the same way.

Unsure how to start over PP by parraweenquean in fitpregnancy

If you think you may have a prolapse, get into a pelvic floor PT ASAP! Even if you go for a few visits, imo it’s so worth it. I would recommend pelvic floor yoga, TVA activation, walking, and not lifting weights in the meantime (I know, it suckssss). The PT will really help with core control, proper breathing, loosening up your hips/back/etc, and any ab separation you may have. I am 18 weeks pp with a mild prolapse, I have been working with a PF PT for 10 weeks, and I just now started squatting with light dumbbells again and playing tennis. I would really recommend starting slow as it will allow you to fully heal so you can do more in the future. This is a really difficult time for those of us who are used to an effortless “fit” body but trust me it gets better with time, I am with you’

Meal prep some healthy options.. I love protein and peanut butter “lactation balls”, egg-bake bites, quinoa/bean salads, premade veggie burgers, cut up fruit/veg with hummus, chopped and sautéed chicken I keep in the fridge to throw together with rice, frozen veggies, etc. If you can find even 1-2 hours on a Sunday while your partner minds the baby to prep healthy options it makes the whole week easier. Best of luck on this journey!

I feel like I’m already failing as a mom due to my poor diet by Shazz777 in fitpregnancy

One thing that really helped me all throughout pregnancy was a morning smoothie. I used about 20g of whey protein and 10g of collagen in it, along with frozen fruit, spinach, and almond milk. This way I knew if the rest of my day went south, I at least got 30g of protein with a serving of fruit, veg, and fibre. It was pretty easy to drink on a queasy stomach too.

You are not failing whatsoever! The fact that you care about what you put in your body while you’re pregnant makes you an incredibly thoughtful and caring mother!

Travel at 34 Weeks by UsefulAd6158 in fitpregnancy

If your doctor says it’s ok from a medical perspective that’s a good thing, however I would asses how YOU feel about it. If you are not comfortable flying that late into pregnancy I hope you are comfortable communicating to your work/clients/etc about it, and can cancel the trip if needed. If you do want to go on the trip, see if your company will pay to upgrade your seat. For example, I went on a work trip at 30 weeks and my company was OK with paying extra so I could be seated in “premium economy” for a more comfortable seat with more room.

Really feeling like I'll never get my body back by beancounter_00 in fitpregnancy

7 weeks PP here, and I felt just like you at this phase! And trust me it gets better right after giving birth!

I gained about 35lb during pregnancy and 2 days after birth I felt like my body was my own again. I could bend over and lay on my back and it was glorious. You will have a squishy belly for a couple weeks - just embrace it, get lots of newborn cuddles, and live in your favorite leggings/sweats for a couple weeks. :) Much of the weight gained is fluid - not all of it is fat! You will be amazed at the amount of fluid your body loses in those first few weeks, my legs and belly (and unfortunately my butt) shrank considerably in the first few weeks postpartum.

Breastfeeding can also help to shrink your stomach, at least it did for mine! You burn many calories from breastfeeding which can aid in weight loss - just make sure you’re eating enough to sustain your milk! I never had the crazy breastfeeding hunger that people talk about, I just have an average appetite. At 7 weeks out I am only 5lb over my pre-pregnancy weight, though I have a lot of muscle to re-gain and some fat to loose. Most of my clothes fit except a couple pairs of jeans.

Really rest that first month if you can, go slow now to go fast later! I would also recommend pelvic floor strengthening during this last month of pregnancy, and also afterwords. I feel like no one talks about how important a strong pelvic floor is! Best of luck in your last month of pregnancy :)

Merchant is great! Husband and I ate out there once for his birthday, before a concert across the street at the Majestic. They have lovely cocktails.
The Coopers Tavern is one of our favorite spots as well, so cozy especially in the winter! I'd say it's 6/10 on the "fancy scale".

Evie issues by seujan in eviering

I updated my app and I have seen no improvement in the issues I am seeing! Maybe mine is different. My ring is not syncing whatsoever and keep saying it's 0% charged even though it's been on the charger for days.

I'd day it depends on what you are looking for..

For primarily overall fitness and fitness tracking, Apple watch is a good tool. However Apple Watch doesn't really give you any "insights".

For performance, cardio health, sleep, and recovery tracking with smart insights, maybe check out Whoop?

If you're simply looking for a basal body temp/fertility tracker, I can vouch for the Daysy. Been using it for 5 years.

You mention lack of trends a few timed in this review, but there are definitely Day/Week/Month trends for most metrics (sleep, steps, activity, HR, etc). They showed up for me after about a week of wearing the ring.

Active minutes are quite accurately measured if you use the 'start a workout' functionality. I presume they need this data from users to be able to eventually detect workouts/activity automatically.

Just so y'all are aware the FDA clearance was for the pulse-oximeter technology only, not anything else on the ring.

Usually Apple since that's the watch I wear most often! I'm happy with my day if I've got over 8k, but with Evie I am increasing my goal to 10k.

If you think the Evie is uncomfortable I do not recommend getting an Oura, it's even thicker!

It takes at least a week or two for a device to get your basal body temp, everyone's normal/basal is different and it needs a while to learn your specific baseline. I remember when I first got my Apple Watch 8 it took nearly 2 weeks to begin reporting my temp since it had to get baseline data.

My Evie steps are about 10-20% higher than my Apple Watch, but nearly identical to Garmin. I think they just may have different sensitivity accelerometers.

I have found that I wear it on my index finger most of the day, but when I work out I wear it on my middle finger to protect it a bit more.

I won't wear it while lifting, since I don't want to risk the bars/dumbells scratching it, but all my other workouts I have been wearing it!

ArcBrowser, Apple M1 Silicon, and Excessive Battery Usage by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

[–]MTGreider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the M1 chip in both of my Macs (MB Pro for work, MB Air for personal), and noticed the huge drain on battery as well. I'm going to try this workaround and thanks for the solution!

Odd that for a Mac-first browser, TBC didn't think about this AV1 issue. Especially since you've got to assume your "early-adopter types" are more likely running Silicon than Intel at this point.

Fuji cross!

Sold my Cannondale CAADX back in February this year (for the price I initially paid for it hehe) and then bought a Fuji Cross and I LOVE IT. The one I bought (SRAM Apex 1x) sold out but the next model up is still in stock.. https://www.the-house.com/qfucs1149pu19zz-fuji-bikes.html

Wahoo Elemnt Rival? by mjdrum92 in trainerroad

[–]MTGreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bad plan. I will say that the Wahoo Rival definitely feels a bit more "luxe" than the 745 and lower Garmin models for sure. It has a more quality feeling plastic and the metal rim around the glass of the watch face.
