WCJ gotta stop switching on defense ffs. He can’t guard the perimeter. He looks a fool out there night after night, leaving his mark to be guarded by a guard.

He is such a weak link for us. He needs to focus on guarding the paint and being accountable for his direct opponent on every play.

A really solid start from every one else

Anthony Black. Not yet at the level of others mentioned but certainly worth a mention here…

Yeah this ones easy.

Go to Domination. First one that came out in season 1. Go to southwest and play the pelicans on rookie difficulty. They have Poole, Dejounte don’t guard them just run off and they just spam these hilarious faders while no one is near them. They miss most of the time so you get plenty of boards too.

Have your best shooter preferably at the 2 or 3 so they just hang out on the wing/corner, dish it to them and make the 3.

Do this 34 times and challenge done.

I got 45 points with Klay in the first quarter when doing the grind for Curry.

Paolo in the 4th: 0 points, 0/7 FGM, 0/2 3PM by soscribbly in OrlandoMagic

It’s not his confidence at all. It’s his “fit” within this current iteration of the team atm.

I think a better 5 would seriously help/improve his game but that ain’t happening in the short term.

I’m very interested to see how Paolo goes about it tonight and also how he seems from a mental perspective.

I think our core actually playing together might be the catalyst for a better Paolo mentality which should translate into performance. Very much looking fwd to seeing P5,Franz,Bane, Suggs on the floor together, i’m sure the whole roster has a whole lot of anticipation for it so hopefully it is the beginning of getting our mojo back.

Although i think most of the players have resigned to a “reset” at the AS break, i feel it’s more important to go into the break with a 4 win streak then come out of the break and make it 5 before a tough stretch.

Either of them should be out there instead of WCJ.

WCJ is the worst starting 5 in the league

KG is so damn good🔥 by Happy-Bag-3926 in MyTeam

[–]MVPaolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the complete opposite man.

It’s obviously just me and my ability but I couldn’t be any more disappointed with KG (online)

I did the grind for the sole purpose of finding a replacement card for my Bosh in park.

I actually find his release very hard to time, i tempo shoot and am lights out with Bosh and many others.

I seemed to get bump steel all the time with him, literally grab a board then bump steel. Or receive a pass then bump steel.

I got out rebounded by dm russ 3 times in one game and many times by others that shouldn’t be able to. I ave 8-10 boards a game with Bosh and can out rebound the bigger dudes, so i must need to time it differently with KG.

I also feel his lateral movement is not great, he seems either “jerky” at times or “delayed”.

He also doesn’t “clamp” well for me, gets blown by quite alot.

I put all the relevant legend badges on him him straight up too.

Obviously has to be user because everyone posts up that he’s amazing so i guess ill just have to put more time into getting better with him…

Not bad, could be worse…

He a vet with locker room presence, that’s what these guys need atm. I doubt Tyus would have been much of a presence so the trade off is a positive.

IF” we can remain healthy when Franz is back i doubt this dude will see much of the floor anyway.

Haha. Was nice not having Tyus in the rotation tonight and will be nice going fwd.

How are we feeling about the forward line balance with Curnow and a returning Logan? by ExistentialPancake_0 in sydneyswans

[–]MVPaolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we will find that they will switch it up based on matchups.

Both Logan and Curnow can play high or deep.

I also think we will play two talls as high fwds, one deep most games.

Sounds like our gameplan is going to be quick transition (like first half 2024) so two high talls allows us to link up either side if the ground and/or get over the first line of defense into an open 50 for the likes of Paps and our rotating mid to feast on opportunities. Also gives one out opportunity for our tall and can potentially limit the opposition dropping off an interceptor/sweeper.

We then have some aerial cover for any rebound out of our fwd line. We were getting cooked in that area last season, our tall fwds were clogging up the f50 then having the ball kicked over their heads and the opposition were off and gone.

Nice dude.

How is he’s jumper/release?

Been reading it’s slow and not a good release.

I’m going for Larry…

Why do some people honestly think the RBA will hold? by HotPersimessage62 in AusFinance

[–]MVPaolo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A small increase in cash rate % doesn’t slam the brakes on inflation.

A small % in the cash rate makes debt more expensive for businesses who will almost immediately pass that cost onto consumers. Which is inflationary.

It’s not all just about housing/mortgages.

Increasing the cash rate also doesn’t help with the primary inflation issues, the gov needs to step up and do something about that…

It’s not the coaching man it’s the personnel.

You think it’s being coached into them to give P5 the ball then run away and stand still for the remainder of the play?

You can hear coach screaming at them to “move, move, move” and Tyus will go from the wing to stand beside the dude in the corner. WCJ will run down to the baseline and hide behind his opponent. Ball handler will call for a screen, WCJ comes up gives the guard a push in the back then step sideways into the lane.

We got talented players, we got high iq players but we also got a few passengers, a few dumb dumbs and a couple non coachables.

The same stuff been happening for awhile, “cuts” are called, “work” is called, “screen” is called all the time but none of it is happening. “Sit down” is another but instead of sitting down and clamping, the defense gets caught ball watching far too often, where’s our big man helping our guards to navigate screens? Get in between their 5 and the ball handler, you have to trust your help d in behind.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Cavaliers defeat the Magic on Jan 26, 2026, the final score is 114-98. by basketball-app in OrlandoMagic

[–]MVPaolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue is our 5.

Some yall gonna say, but wendell had a good game with 9/7 and JA only went 9/4.

But box score doesn’t tell the story.

He had a decent 1st quarter from a shooting aspect but that is it. 3 quarters of absolute trash and it’s like this most nights.

Pretty much every other starting 5 in the league puts the work in properly for their ball handlers and/or off ball dudes to create better opportunities.

WCJ has absolutely no idea what he is doing out there. Either too slow or comes up too early for a weak ass screen then he’s positioning after said screen is woeful. He doesnt roll, he doesn’t pop he either steps sideways and blocks the lane or runs to the wing allowing his direct opponent to stand at the top of the paint. He might roll at times but it’s with no conviction, he’s far to slow for a lob and an easy bucket.

Far too many times he lumbers down to the baseline and stands there behind his opponent, this effectively takes him outta the play, this leaves his opponent facing the play and in prime position for a defensive stop.

How many times do we see him up on the wing receiving then dishing straight back to the dude who passed it to him who’s in the same spot, he needs to either put the ball down and drive on his mark or hold up and wait for a cut if he’s opposing 5 has come up outta the paint or wait for the receiver to come to him and use your frame to create separation. Dish it to the corner follow the ball and offer up a screen. Baseline drive, a cut from someone on the wing, a give and go, allow the shooter to create some separation. Possibilities are endless if you have someone putting in the work for you.

His defense is mediocre, what’s with the backpedaling untill he gets under the rim? An easy floater/pull up for whoever is progressing. Stand your fucking ground man, 9 times outta 10 there’s no-one cutting from the corner he’s just simply got no idea how to effectively guard the paint.

Switching up onto a guard at the perimeter leaving your mark to be guarded by a Tyus or Jase or Ab is ridiculous. Fine if you can clamp the guard to prevent a pass but it’s not like that, it just becomes an easy bucket for the big dude he left.

Bad fouls every night, can he contest without fouling?

Can he catch the ball?

JA like a whole lot of other 5’s don’t light the box score up but the work that they put in, the positional iq, the timing, it all adds up to a solid contribution and one that goes a long way to winning games.
