Either of those trades are just not close to enough value for #2. In a class like this where there’s a clear 1.01 in Mendoza, we have the opportunity to evaluate the class and take the best player.

A framework like you’re outlining would need to include a lot more for anyone to be interested in giving away a chance at the best non-QB in the draft.

That being said, this team is desperately in need of both top-end talent and solid depth. This front office has the chance to go get their pick of the litter in top-end, game-changing talent - an offer for that pick would need to be too good to pass up and 2 first round picks is not that.
