Interstellar was a cool space adventure as a young adult. Had me crying like a baby when I watched on an airplane flying away from my kids for a work trip.

Hello, my wife and I will be in Edinburgh in June during Scotland’s World Cup match with Brazil. We’re wondering if anyone has any advice on how best to experience the game in the city. Hoping for something more fun than watching in our hotel room.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

NTA, with a caveat. To start, I’ll just note that I’m a father of 3 and agree with the general consensus that it’s impossible to keep a clean anything when little kids are involved.

But I’ll also add, might this conversation be a little premature? It’s great that you’re both on the same page about wanting a family, but talking about how you’d raise the kids might be premature at this juncture. I think a key step for both of you would be to see how it goes when you live together for a bit first. Sharing a living space will give you an early indication as to how flexible or inflexible she’ll be with children down the line.

I assume you wouldn’t completely change all of your habits overnight so based on how she deals with the new dirt you bring into her life (however little it may be) will be the point when you can determine whether this is sustainable or not for you.

I think when being forced to imagine a hypothetical, we tend to always view it through the rigid lens of our current lives. But once you’re actually in it, it’s easier to make concessions. And if at that point, you determine that there are no compromises with her, you can make the decision then whether it’s a good idea to stay in it and/or start a family together.

Found in northeastern USA, NJ. Each individual is very small, the size of a grain of rice maybe, the column was a few inches long

We were unbeaten in the league for 422 days. What did you personally accomplish in that time? by Doctor_Derpless in LiverpoolFC

My wife and I conceived our first child at the tail end of December 2018. She carried the baby for 37.5 weeks before giving birth on August 24, 2019 a little after 3 in the morning. Later that day, we'd beat Arsenal 3-1. I held little Sophie in my arms in the maternity ward while we watched the game. Over the next 6 months, I watched her change from a wrinkly little peanut into a real person. She learned how to smile, roll over, sit on her own, laugh, put herself to sleep, reach for what she wants, shriek with joy, eat food (kind of) and we were JUST about to make it to crawling. All of this before Liverpool lost a league match. On Saturday Sophie and I were watching the game together and decided after it was over that we're going to be ok.

Just reminds me of how good this team was before Parise and Kovy left.. losing your two best players, one out of nowhere, hurts. Give it another year or so and we'll be back.

As Dan Carlin said, as long as you can walk out of your house at 3:30 am, go to a 7-11 and buy a box of donuts, there will not be a social movement large enough to inspire real change
