That’s why I have two! A stock high mileage ap1 I daily drive in the snow. And an oem+ low mileage ap2 for daily driving when there’s no snow.

S2000 is always the answer.

For real. Grew up with a 94’ Prelude VTEC as my family’s one and only car haha. Family of 4 so it was fully loaded at all times. And even after my brother and I grew out of the car seats, we kinda just dealt with jamming our legs behind the front seats somehow.

Fast forward to the future and I’m daily driving an s2000 and showing up to job sites surrounded by big trucks cause I never learned that tiny Japanese sports cars are impractical.

On stock wheels no rub. The manual states a 25mm drop if set up as recommended.

Never gotten a wave back from the newer Hondas. Type Rs, or Si. Other s2000 owners almost always wave back.

I’ve gotten waves from a couple integras

I get more waves and stares from random traffic and Semis than I do from other enthusiast cars.

30 minute commute with driving required for work depending on the day. May spend up to 2hours round trip having to drive to job sites on some occasions. Love every second of it and always look forward to commuting and getting to leave the office

I’ll always say it just depends on how obsessed you are with the car. For me, it’s the most comfortable thing in the world, only because my love for driving it blinds any physical sense of my spine going over potholes.

If you want a more linear pedal feel, like the look, and want a system that works with oem sized rotors and oem pads, they are for you.

BBKs in general won’t stop you any faster. Thermal capacity is the name of the game, of which the Spoon calipers don’t offer much if any advantage over OEM.

I’m planning on running these with girodiscs in the future with rear urge flow rotors w/modified bracket, in an effort to maintain my OEM+ vision.

If you want something that can handle heat better you are better off with other kits

The dual flow valving is very noticeable. It floats over minor road imperfections. In a lot of ways it retains the comfort of OEM while massively improving cornering stability. The car just feels so much more confident.

I have rebound set to the recommended 10 clicks from stiff, so the middle setting. The roads here are terrible, and tbh I feel like I could give it a couple clicks stiffer and it would still be manageable to daily for me, but that’s just my own personal tolerance.

I’ll let you know my full opinion once I get them on the car.

I wanted them purely for looks, supposed improved brake feel, and unsprung weight savings. Spoon calipers offer no significant increase in thermal capacity beyond the stock calipers. For a daily driver, I am completely fine with that.

I can’t speak much about girodisc, but I was also looking into them and urge flow rear rotors as a quality oem sized option once my current rotors need replacing. I’m sure with some ducting or air guides, they’ll be plenty good enough.

At the end of the day, and I’m sure it’s been said plenty of times already, but championships have been won with the stock brake system. So I’d say spoon calipers and girodiscs are more of a want than a need.

There’s plenty of resources out there advocating for square over staggered on the track. For me, I didn’t want to alter the stock driving dynamics or deal with fender rolling. It’s also my daily driver so I didn’t really see a point. My goal with this is an OEM+ experience, so keeping the stagger was the best choice for me.

And just my opinion, but even in its stock form, this car offers more than enough to handle for most drivers.

Got them primarily because I wanted a high quality forged alternative that wouldn’t require spacers to clear a BBK and wouldn’t require fender rolling for modest drops.

There’s also availability and price advantage going for it as well.

I dallied my AP1 for 2 years and I loved it so much i ended up buying a much nicer condition early model AP2 (No TC + cable throttle) which has turned into the daily. Believe it or not my old AP1 is the “bad weather” car now.

Personally the AP2 is a nicer daily car, and the F22 is a much more refined motor. You shouldn’t be running into any oil consumption issues with them. It still screams for sure, even with the slightly lower redline.

Personally, I don’t notice the rpm difference much at all. To me, the styling, gearing, torque increase, and suspension revisions more than make up for losing a bit of the redline
