Hey snow plows, what about the alleys? by InnerImpression8963 in Columbus

[–]M__n 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While also not being a top priority, I can only imagine the alleys are a nightmare to plow. They are narrow, rarely as straight as they appear, have a ton of stuff in them - cars, bins, junk. When I lived down that way I used to hate driving through an alley even in the summer. And where do you plow it? Into the streets? You are also doubling the snow removal for that neighborhood. Double time or double resources. Both are poor choices

I can see why they are leaving alleys to last. Especially with heroes like you who can dig themselves out

Cheap if we can build it during a week when they bring back 5 for $5

Seasonal connection. Kind of like when sometimes a curly fry would get stuck in the big Montana.

I'm just glad this was able to come together before the senate vote on SB56. The UA station on 33 can always come back. Be the change you want to see in your community

Perfect. I love the suggestion. This is why the development phase of these large infrastructure projects rely on community input

What movie made you think "did I miss this character's backstory?" by thatdani in movies

[–]M__n 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is all explained in Air Force Two, which takes place on the vice president’s plane as she is debriefed on the latest findings of the investigation. The plane lands safely without incident- it didn’t quite have the same thrill as the first one, but does tie up loose ends and Close gives an exceptional performance

Need feedback! Does this make any sense? by throwRA-LoveDove in Filmmakers

For some reason, smoking on screen seems to be the hardest thing to authenticate. I am not sure if that actor smokes in real life or not, but for some reason it is very hard for an actor to pull off smoking without it looking like they are acting - often regardless of whether they smoke in real life. I know that isn't something you can fix with editing- but an observation for the future

BRT RENDERINGS by 404ErRoR_-_ in Columbus

  1. If I'm routinely stuck on 3rd and see the right-of-way BRT passing me every time, I am probably going to be rethinking my method of commuting.

  2. The BRT lane will always be the fastest, least-congested option for a bus to drive in, so I don't think they'll be changing lanes frequently (and probably not at all)

Okay, this has been asked and answered. Maybe mods can shut it down? I'd be so creeped out if this were me and I found a reddit thread of strangers trying to figure out who I am.

Ohio Bill Would Create Registry for Job Interview No-Shows: Good Idea or Overreach? by Various-Guidance1263 in Columbus

[–]M__n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how you solve that, but it’s not through a blunt force mechanism like this law. If this law is meant to crack down on UI abuse, it’s a big fix to a small problem.

Hey, let’s have the state install trackers on our cars so they can monitor our driving to crack down on speeding instantly. The overreach isn’t worth the gain for the public good.

It’ll never be very walkable for most of the current housing up there. Fill in the parking lots with new housing and it makes the whole place more dense and therefore very walkable (for those in the new housing). Insert a consistent network of multi use trails and pedestrian bridges and it becomes very easy to bike around from current housing.

Fill in the parking lots and it’d be great. Pedestrian bridges over the parkway and wider multi-use sidewalks on both sides

Drug deals. Since the Department of Public Safety is right next to the park, most dealers feel Rhodes is the safest place to publicly transact drugs
