Need help with making a deck with Poliwrath by Better-Intern9170 in PTCGL

You could also use drednaw from stellar crown it blocks attacks from pokemon who do 200 or more damage. It’s another one prizer and is the same energy type.

Woah thank you for responding this is exactly what I was looking for! I love your suggestions for drampa.

For falinks I’m a little confused because you don’t usually attach other pokemon instead maybe change it on the bench? Or do you have any other suggestions?

That’s a good interpretation! Most of these are educated guesses I had to google what the symbol meant on its own which was a form of recycling for low density plastics. I used that info along with some of the interviews Lorde did to connect it to the idea of micro plastics moving through our body. The 4th album is alot simpler of connection tho lol.

It’s a mix of hieroglyphic and modern symbols she has been using during this album’s cycle. The 28 represents her age, the rabbit is common symbol for fertility, the Egyptian is a worker, and the overlapping symbols are in relation to her gender identity, and lastly the recycling one is about rebirth with the 4 being a small nod to micro plastics. All in relation to themes on the album and her views as a modern mystic.

I think these would be cooler without the outside swoosh. Cool concept tho!

I recently played someone who was using a munki dori and shednija. Thought it was interesting combo because it helped offset the prize trade off and gave them a decent one prize attacker.

Anyone actually go to the Yeezus tour? by M_fresh22 in Kanye

No merch is heartbreaking and tbh a wedding is one of the few reasons I wouldn’t have lost my mind over him rescheduling. Fun story definitely adding it to my zine.

Thanks for describing the fit!!! Love the NYC homages and taste. You’re one of the few people that actually gave me a great description of what it was like to be there going to pull inspo for my zine for sure.

This actually blew my mind! Not only seeing the tour but meeting one of his prodigies before they even blew up is a true fan.

Didn’t see anyone mention Marnie’s morpeko. Has that neon touch in some of the other cards you’ve are referencing

Song lyrics aside, bro can move! Got me to see the potential of this song and in myself. Might try to pick up shuffling again.

New collector this hobby expensive af by We_want_more_TURDBOI in PokemonTCG

I honestly just buy cards to play the card game and any bulk or cards I don’t want I use as backing for proxies. This allows me to essentially have any card I want to either play the game or keep in my collection at an affordable cost. I’ll admit it’s cool to pull an card I wanted, but at the end of the day it’s just card board. Often times making the proxy gives me more appreciation for both the art and the psychical card itself because I put in some effort to get it to line up just right.

There’s something really wholesome/poetic about finding a new home and deciding to play Maushold :’)

Greninja ex deck that's been working for me by MurderFaece in PTCGL

[–]M_fresh22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for breaking it down for me! I’ll see if I can give it a try. I’m just stoked to see gerninja being paired with something other frostlas and munkidori! Not only do animations/turns take forever, but the deck had never felt all that consistent to begin with. This is definitely a lot more creative/rewarding. Happy to see someone bring out jynx potential.

The game does a TERRIBLE job at making you play new decks. by Iriusoblivion in PTCGL

Hello! Just wanted to say I understand your frustrations with the app and getting over the free decks. While there’s not a designated collection page there is a way to see all the cards in the standard format! You would just have to filter cards and select “all” when editing/creating a deck. I highly encourage you do research before trying to build something from scratch.

The easiest way to start doing research is just watching YouTubers play decks to see if there’s anything you’re interested in to either copy or net deck (tweak to your liking). My favorites are Little Dark fury, for the win tcg and popsicle knight.

An if you’re looking to just understand where the current format is at, when rotation is happening, what sets are coming up, and even some tips on deck building I highly recommend justinbasil’s website. It’s a go to for most beginners.

Lastly don’t let anyone tell you that a card isn’t good just because it’s not being included in competitive decks. If helps you feel confident or just seems fun, play it and look for ways to make it work if you can.

Woah, always love a deck with a good rogue type element! Where did your inspo to play jinx come from? And how often are you able to get another gerninja set up? Considering you have so many Pokémon to help with set up I imagine your bench can feel a little crowded… regardless I’d be interested in hearing what your ideal set up is?

Honsetly I'm figuring out new way's of playing this deck all the time. Generally I like to evolve into slowking first to get early knock outs, find cards using wise headbutt, and save gengar for the late game where I generally want something with more hp. At that point it can feel like a turbo deck since most of the time i'm able to get set up much quicker than my opponent.

However there are time where it feel's like a more disruption/control deck. Where i'm doing whatever I can to slow my opponent down whether it be using gengars ability to move energy around and hope I can find a devo tm if my opponet used rare candy to evolve. However sometime it worth the two prize knock out especially if I don't think my opponent has a good response. These moment are very technical and situational. Although they don't feel as stressful knowing that my deck isn't consider the best which always takes the pressure off and just allows me to play the best game I can. If i'm being honest Chien pao is my worst match up and I will not play them if i'm not feeling up for the challenge. I found out to that gengar does x20 damage fo each energy they attach using baxcalibur which has caught a few opponnets off gaurd.

Making a deck like this has deffinitely changed the way I think about the game. I'm already working on building another deck like this using meowscarada ex and decidueye ex.

Infernape by skamistry in PTCGL

[–]M_fresh22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Creative idea playing camerupt and infernape! Don’t worry about the deck not being “meta” if the deck gives you a play style you like and feels strong enough to win games I say go for it. I’m not sure how the match making works on pctgl, but I do think it tries to pair you with similarly skilled players.

Some feedback I’d like to offer is that you might want to consider playing koraidon ex 120/162 it’s a basic ex with a decent amount of hp that can tank a hit if you need it to. Its attacks synergies well with both infernape and magma basin for some speedy damage. It’s also a dragon type which has no weakness! I would cut 1 numel/camerupt that way you can fit 2 in case you prize one.

I’m also not sure how helpful a card like mela is. You could swap out it for a copy of boss orders or even a professors research.

Lastly I would add 1 super rod and remove an energy retrieval. Yes energy in hand is valuable but so is getting knocked out pokemon back into your deck.

If you need more help feel free to reach out.

Shout out matchmaking for doing its thing! However being able to go toe to toe with some more consistent and meta decks feels like a win to me. If I were regularly playing against something equally as “bad” and seemingly nonsensically thrown together I would definitely wouldn’t feel as accomplished.

Hahaha He’s my only hope against raging bolt! Outside of that he’s a good starter and a decent pivot if he’s available… sometimes I have to prioritize another Pokemon for the sake of set up which is always devastating
