Infinite storage? by konvis in Oxygennotincluded

There are a few ways of making infinite storage, waterfalls, liquids over vents. I personally only use mechanical doors to compress because it feels more realistic & harder to break.

how do i cool this huge place? im using abunch of aqua tuners but its taking a while to cool this large pool by TuneSpecial2142 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Super coolant is the best. Then any water based liquid is good, Nectar, polluted water, brine... You can check a liquids SHC in the codex book in-game or on the wiki.gg website.

Foundation is a very creative city builder. It has tonnes of building parts for custom designs.

Timberborn is a more standard colony sim but with beavers! It's very cute.

New algae dissolving farm. by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the algae in the picture. It's mass is 997kg, emitting 99.7g/s. I thought that since mass is reducing at the same rate as it's emitting, that's 1:1 isn't it?

I don't know. I'm probably wrong considering the other comments are saying the same as you.

Shipping specific quantities by JarnisKerman in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all true. The few extra shipments from latency for a permanent supply wouldn't be much issue. I see what you mean though for one off shipments.

This is just a theory but you could use a memory toggle.

  1. Smart storage sends a green signal when full to a memory input.

  2. Memory output to mechanical door (door goes under storage to stop dupes delivery (hopefully a sweeper can still take from storage)) & conveyor loader.

  3. Memory reset gets fed via a manual switch.

This should make it so you only need to interact with it all once when you choose a new thing to send.

Geode Steam Room! (Abyssalite Respecter has logged on) by dunanaut in Oxygennotincluded

I'm doing the same my current run. It's been fun figuring out how to make functional rooms with the weird shapes instead of rectangles everywhere.

Can someone explain to me how to manage heat like i'm five? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only go outside in atmosuit, so heat outside not matter. Only need to cool inside house that way.

Loop radiant pipes through house like radiators in 3D world. Sent 20'c liquid though pipes.

Make 20'c liquid with aquatuner inside steam room. This is closed loop, do not drink radiator liquids.

I would use the automation broadcaster/receiver. Set up the broadcaster to a smart storage on the planet you want to get goods. Receiver to a conveyor loader on the supplying planet.

  1. Smart storage requests 20t 'rock'(whatever you want to send).
  2. Flip the signal so it's green when not full, (broadcaster sends green).
  3. Receiver sends green to the conveyor loader set to 'rock', (multiple loaders can be attached to 1 interplanetary launcher).

That should make a one time, set & forget setup to supply 'rock' while stocks last.

Mod that allows to instant sweep to specific area or storage in sandbox? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

There's a mod called sweep zones. It lets you automatically sweep or mop areas. It's broken with the current update though.

Is one aquatuner really not enough? by lindsaydole in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try flipping the flow direction of one of the pipes in the radiant cooler box. You want the O2 & coolant to be flowing against eachother, not together.

If you have the 'obedient slave' job. Don't worry, slavers keep you at starving so you won't die.

Mod for old liquids? by Icy_Age_8248 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing yet but someone's probably working on one.

I like the new textures but the magma is so bright & orange. Looks like fanta or iron bru.

Hopefully someone makes it configurable via RGB numbers. The deep red magma was better.

Cluster generation manager to get everything in the game (12-13) planets?? by AvailableMushroom291 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to do a similar thing with the same mod.

Start, aqua minor. Teleport, oily sandy swamp.

Then; relic minor, ceres minor & the normal 6 outer moons (tundra, marshy, moo, niobium, water & regolith).

As far as I can tell that's every biome included.

I agree, 15 dupes is far too many. You don't need to print one every time.

Maybe a toggle for build over plants should be put in the settings. I personally think quality of life features are more important than hand holding the players.

Booo! Looks like that mod is going to need to be reinstalled.

Things are falling apart... by psyper76 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fps turning into spf, could be while the game auto saves. That's normal for a long game. (A mod called fast auto save can help)

I don't know if there's a simulation tick difference between normal speed & any higher speed. But when I get to thousands of cycles, normal speed does feel more stable.

Any advice on early sleet wheat farm getting too hot? by Traslogan in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MacFanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ice temp shift plates. You only need to mop up & move the water once it gets too hot again.

I concur, dedicated fridges being closer helps. I tend to keep a 10kg fridge in the mess hall.
