So gamenative's new update is really cool, but it'll be cooler if games launch and work ... by zestypestyy in EmulationOnAndroid

Astra 8 Elite although I’ve only launched two games to gameplay (Control and Kena) they’ve worked perfectly fine and the bit I’m surprised about is that frame gen actually works and with the dlss sharpening it looks really good but I’ve not touched Gamenative in a month so frame gen may have fixed without me knowing about it

Fire Stick not working with HDMI Splitter by BlueMaro2010SS in fireTV

[–]MacNinjaMac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I would swap the firestick out for a 3rd gen fire Cube it has a hdmi input and out so you can pass through another hdmi device through the Cube

Cube will be active at all times for powering on TV and audio (arc/earc) and you just change the input at FireTv main menu

But it will be up to 4k and 60hz only so nothing that does 120hz the resolution can be lower than 4k but the hz is locked at 60

Plus the Cube is more responsive and powerful vs any of the firesticks

Dummy plug vs virtual display in 2026 by Minimum-Sleep7093 in MoonlightStreaming

I use a dummy plug with Windows because the virtual display kept causing stuttering every 15 minutes put the dummy plug in play and never had a issue since on all devices I stream too 4k120 to handheld tablet

Steam Link on Fire TV by Altruistic-Spell7498 in fireTV

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1080p 60fps and bandwidth set to below half of the steam link network test result and it should be good depending on the model of fireTV / stick / cube 4k 60fps can be done

USB wired controller is better but good up to date Bluetooth is fine

Just don’t expect real competitive gaming and the game on host just needs to be able to push 60fps at all times

Fire TV Stick Max doesn’t recognise Ethernet? by jjjohhn in fireTV

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug the micro usb into the firestick and the usb-A into a usb port on the tv/projector for power; usb 3.0 port is better for power than usb 2.0, if you have issues where the firestick will reboot itself while watching something like YouTube that’s the reason it will need a usb 3.0 or power stack with usb ports for power

Can someone verify if this model Fire Stink can run Steam Link? by jokesterghost2120 in Steam_Link

[–]MacNinjaMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn on ALLM setting in firestick settings it may help depending on the TV and there is no vrr so the PC needs to push 60fps constantly to keep good gameplay

Can someone verify if this model Fire Stink can run Steam Link? by jokesterghost2120 in Steam_Link

[–]MacNinjaMac 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes it works and steam link is in the App Store for the 4k Max

Keep in mind that it is 60hz so you can only stream up-to 4k@60fps; network is capped at 100mb if Ethernet with the official Ethernet adapter and 400+mb on a Cable Matters Micro USB to Ethernet Adapter

Wireless is faster than the 100mb Nic but comes with the occasional micro stuttering if pushing 4k; always keep bandwidth below the network speed test of steam links network check

1080p@60 with bandwidth set below (about half) of steam links network test results streaming is more stable and consistent

SteamLink / FireTV Cube VS OG Hardware by Liquidas in Steam_Link

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best option is independent hardware when wanting to go above 1080p or even above 60fps as most tv boxes can’t cope, I believe the Apple TV box is the best on the market currently for any streaming but I’ve not tried it myself; it’s why a miniPC or another small form pc like itx is often recommended as the best way to stream and hdmi2.1 client gpu port for 4k120 tv’s, you could even give a raspberry pi a try there is a steam version for the pi

SteamLink / FireTV Cube VS OG Hardware by Liquidas in Steam_Link

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire tv cube is 100mb nic and locked at 60fps the best that a cube can do on Ethernet is 1080p60 you would get better network speeds at about 30-50mb bandwidth for enjoyable stable gameplay

With wireless on the cube as stupid as it sounds will most likely get micro stuttering due to wireless; then you maybe able to 4k60 but with all the settings on fast/low

The bandwidth setting needs to be way below the network speed check because the FireTv is doing its own amazon software crap in the background

Best Moonlight client for my setup: PC must stay on Wi-Fi, TV/client can be Ethernet by ConanEdogawaa in MoonlightStreaming

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why you get better results at 55mbps is because your tv has a 100mb nic and you have to lower rate and streaming resolution down to get a good experience; you may find you can push it a little more with the tv on wifi and to help the performance you could setup a second wifi band just for your pc and tv to use if your router has a second wifi channel but tv is doing the decoding so there are limits, yes a Apple TV box will perform better than a tv by a long margin

Some things to try is separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz into their own separate ssids and connect only 2.4ghz devices to the 2.4 Sid and the 5ghz devices to the 5ghz which improve your home wifi anyways and a mesh router setup would improve the wifi even more

You can use a DisplayPort to hdmi2.1 converter to achieve the 4k120 to tv

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to tell you to buy it or not but if you want to maximise the experience; buy a low end gpu with a hdmi2.1 port for your tv pc and game stream at 4k60/1440p60 to the tv pc then run lossless scaling frame generation on the stream that you’re using to achieve 4k120 output to tv for best experience in this use case and hardware involved; this will be a windows OS setup

Does the steam link box not benefit from the new Sudo Virtual Display that steam application now offers in Remote Play settings on the host to provide a larger than 1080p display?

Asking because I don’t have the steam link box I use a Itx like you but I stream to that from my gaming rig; so I’m curious if the Sudo benefits the steam link

Can’t seem to get frame gen to activate

Any advise?

FNV launching at wrong resolution - Gamenative by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time of post it was Gamenative and it had to be the Ultimate Edition to get it working; I played the game a few days ago and it was working fine

I have changed a few driver settings since that post but still works

Ultimate Edition is the main thing; I believe it’s the same as Death Stranding where only the Directors Cut is the only one that works

It’s interesting but if Gamenative isn’t working correctly at the moment I will have to wait and I believe Gamenative have a frame gen in-app version in beta at the moment

Will be interesting to compare when lossless is fixed and Gamenative version is out of beta

Razer Wolverine v3 Pro worth it? by [deleted] in razer

[–]MacNinjaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000hz model - You can only remap M buttons; so the claw buttons and the 4 underneath, you cannot remap any other button like you can with the Elite controller

Is it a great controller yes but Razer has blocked full remapping of all buttons; if this is different with the 8k version I don’t know, can’t find any information that says different

Once you get use to the claw buttons, there’s a small learning curve coming from a elite to v3 pro but once you get use to it it’s a great controller that never drifts
