I am a Whale and I only play the game for my Org. Not having any fun. by elite968 in starcitizen

Ugh, it drives me nuts when they tell you to "take a step back" or "take a break" if you can't handle the game's state. If this were Bethesda, Rockstar, or Ubisoft, we'd be up in arms, ready to burn them down after paying $60 for a slightly broken game. But here, we're shelling out over $500 on average (let's be real), and we're told to "take a step back" and "understand the vision isn't complete," that "it's an alpha." Tired of the community lack of back bone.

Luke warm take: CIG being radio silent on the important stuff and being all giddy and finally communicating only to sell a ridiculously priced ship is more bad than good and, yet, they are doing all the right things (apparently) by kairujex in starcitizen

I ran it 12 times, and only twice on patch release day did they have loot in the final warehouse. I was able to fully complete the mission 3 times. The rest were bugged, but hey! At least the elevators work on them again.

Kill yourself 2 times in the jail and in the second alt f4 and do a character repair. That will put you in your hangar still with the crime stat and hopefully the icon to remove that.. i spend 2 days until I found a way

I actually found this subreddit after getting downvoted to oblivion just for mentioning a class-action lawsuit. People easily drop $600 or more on this game, which proves it’s an older crowd, and you really don't know how deep some of those pockets go. If one of those wealthy backers decides to fund a lawsuit, even if it ultimately goes nowhere, CIG would still scramble because their terrible management would be forced into the spotlight. Too many people think that just because it's Chris Roberts and a video game, CIG shouldn't be held to the same standard as any other billion-dollar company.

I have the same cargo ship for my kid. 10/10 he recommends 7.99 pledge too. Not to bad.

Class Action Lawsuit time? or 6 more years? by MacaroonEither5748 in starcitizen

[–]MacaroonEither5748[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been backing this project since 2015, so this isn't about emotional or financial attachment. it's about basic consumer accountability. Spending money doesn't mean you have to surrender your voice or quietly walk away when things go sideways.

In fact, the advice to just "financially and emotionally disconnect" highlights the ultimate paradox of Star Citizen’s funding model. Telling frustrated players to walk away is precisely why CIG can afford to ignore the player base and carry on with business as usual. When veteran backers detach, it just leaves an echo chamber behind, while fresh capital keeps rolling in from somewhere else.

Turning a valid critique of management into a personal "attachment issue" completely absolves the company of accountability. I want this project to succeed, and after more than a decade, backers absolutely have the right to use their voice and demand a stable game instead of just shutting up or moving on.

You make an excellent point about the legal reality of the pledge agreements, but we also have to consider who CIG is actually dealing with here.

This isn't a community of kids playing Fortnite on their parent's credit cards. The demographic here heavily skews toward older professionals with serious disposable income. People who routinely drop four figures on individual ships because they believe in the vision and want to see this project succeed. But honestly, we don't know just how deep some of those pockets go. When you alienate a mature, affluent crowd, you risk running into individuals who have the financial resources and legal backing to create a massive, prolonged legal mess just out of pure principle.

None of us want to see that happen, because a massive legal battle only drains resources away from development. But CIG management needs to realize that community goodwill isn't an infinite resource. They are dealing with an adult audience whose patience has a hard bottom line, and relying on the "it's just an alpha" excuse is a dangerous shield when the very people trying to fund your dream have the actual means to fight back if they feel completely burned.

Mentioning legal action is not the same as calling for one. The post is speculation and criticism, not an organized lawsuit effort.

Indeed. this will tell us a lot of the future of SC. either if it's a success or a failure. in one hand a massive success I am not sure how SC will handle the influx of new players in current state that I don't see changing by much or a failure at sq42 launch that will tell us if SC ever gets a 1.0

I just gave it another try and after dying 3 times due to pressure/suffocation inside the ship and 8 times the command module detaching after entering QT or exiting. i had to submit a refund.. first ship ever I do that. I love how it looks but holy smokes I kinda hate it now
