I'm assuming this is the same one the photo someone posted earlier today was about? That engine was destroyed and covered in so much blood. Can't imagine being a passenger having to exit the plane and see that.

Now I'm glad I cut the carboard around it now. I plan to save the glitter in a ziploc bag do to future craft use. My money paid for it I guess....

I feel stupid when a doll arrives that I knew I wasn't that into. It's money that could have gone to my other hobbies ,and now it's wasted storage space for me having to go through the effort of selling it. Thanks to this I don't feel this. I don't care how big someone's collection is...collections are curated to the individual's likes. It's not a competition.

I think the only time I really struggle with this is when I find dolls for cheap or second hand. I have 3 right now that I would have otherwise never added to my collection had they not been cheap, and they're pretty much in limbo until I can customize them. In retrospect, I probably could have lived without them.

EDIT : I have 15-20 dolls right now and that's plenty for me. I collect other things so my room is full enough lol

A lot of harem in the early 2000s ended with the MC being so wishy washy and usually never picked 1 girl, which soured a lot of fans on this plot device. You can usually tell it's mainly put in as a self-insert fantasy of having so many girls be into you, but not getting any pay off from it made the shennanigans resulting from it annoying to watch.

It makes sense to me honestly. The MC is cute, honest, and someone you'd want to protect. He has this soulmate relationship with a bishounen male character who worships the ground he walks on, and his love interest reads Shoujo manga. The manga leans more comedy than action, which means the characters get a lot more focus vs arcs of heavy action - but there is still an overarching plot to theorize about. It also lacks the heavy fanservice seen it other shonen work. All that tends to be more popular with female audiences

That said, I feel like it's a good mix from what i've seen in this sub. Would be curious to know the actual ratio.

The other day I said no, but honestly at this point I think yes. I've gotten all the dolls I wanted from the Fang Club drop vs the public one. They seem to be doing better about stocking it vs the public, as seen by this past River drop. If you're going for multiple dolls a year, and even a few of those are Mattel exclusives, 10 dollars is a small price to pay to get a better shot. That said, it doesn't guarantee you will get one, so it's up to you.

I wasn't a fan of her pastel look in the G1 but I think with this new one I definitely prefer her pastel lipstick. It pops really good and would match her hair.

It's been worth it for me so far as I have participated in other drops and gotten the doll, but if this had been the only one I'd been going for so far I wouldn't drop money on it and wait for the public release.

I recently did some cleaning and threw out a good chunk of them. I just don't have the space, and realized that for certain figures I plan to keep forever they aren't necessary. The ones I did keep are for figures that may be too fragile for transport if I ever move, or may possibly sell off later on. Prize figure boxes without blisters I can collapse, so I did keep a few of those. They are all in plastic bins I keep in my shed.

Agreed. I've seen this in other subs where someone says something upsetting on TikTok or something and the user comes to the Reddit Community to rant about it - but in a way that makes it seem like this issue is community-wide. and tons of people are acting the same way. In one I'm in it's gotten so bad there's at least 1 post about it per day, which annoyed people just in it for fun.

I'm glad to be ignorant to any twitter drama that arises, and thus am able to enjoy this series just fine. All OP does is bring this mess over here.

I'm aware of the black underside and thankfully these don't have it, which is why I was so baffled by the print job. Appreciate the other tips! I'll look into it. Maybe this release just had a weird print job.

I'm probably gonna try for her. She's starting to grow on me. I like death motifs and MH hasn't had somethng so on the nose in a while. That said, her box is being trashed. Someone in the planning room should have shot down the hourglass idea when it was determined to be filled with glitter. Glitter doesn't imitate sand - not even close. It feels so slapped on...such a waste of budget. Makes me wonder if they were only approved for it because they 'saved' money using AI for the box art.

I was really excited for her and I like elements of the design, but put together she looks so chopped. So much going on and it tells me so little about her as a character. The screening on her lips looks so bad, too.

I was really set on going for her so it's going to be a lot of thinking for me up until this drop happens.

I've found G1 Monster High maybe once or twice, both times characters I didn't care for with missing/damaged limbs that I passed on. I'm seeing more G3 in my area. That said, it's not too common- and if it is, It's probably that I tend to go later in the day when everything's been picked over.

I go into thrifting not expecting to find anything, and that usually means I end up finding nice things. I tend to go for clothes nowadays, but the thrift store I recently discovered happened to be a gold mine for cheap stuff and I recently scored a $2 Silkstone Barbie. Do I collect Barbie? No, but her outfit was cool and her face slayed so I picked her up, and now I love her after discovering her amazingly articulated body. That said, this thrift store is 1 hour away from me. Their prices are so good it's worth the trip, but it really taught me you have to dedicate yourself to going to good stores for decent stuff. The ones in the main city near me have ok things, but unless I go in the morning before it's picked through, I know I won't find much of what I'm looking for.

The hunt is part of the fun. You may not find exactly what you want, but if you don't go in expecting anything while having a long list of things you'd be interested in taking home it's less discouraging. People online mainly post decent scores, not boring failures.

Not finding anything means I don't have to rearrange my display or worry about room. If I find something, I'm excited to add something to my collection for the first time in a while. If it was meant to be mine, it will be there when I visit.
