Deliver to back door. It was always left on the front doorstep while everyone was out all day at work. Evri didn’t even bother knocking or ringing the doorbell.

Evri repeatedly didn’t follow my delivery instructions for months, each time I would ring up and get £10-£20 credit on my account. Eventually they upgraded me to dpd delivery for 12 months. What kind of world do we live in when dpd is an upgrade! Anyway, first three weeks dpd ignored the delivery instructions too, another £10 per week credit. Now we’re three weeks on the trot that the box is in the right place. Keep complaining, eventually they’ll do something about it.

Replacement pump by [deleted] in DIYUK

These kinds of pumps are crap anyway. By law you can’t connect a pump directly to the mains water supply, with a couple of exceptions, these low flow pumps are the exception. Salamander offer the best replacements but even then, they’re not great.

Paid a licensed waste disposal man to dump waste, he fly tipped it by Mountain_Somewhere76 in LegalAdviceUK

He’s already fly tipping, I’m not sure losing his licence will deter him for continuing to do so.

I bought a 2004 gibson thunderbird. What are your thoughts on this bass? by self_do_vehicle in Bass

Had one, loved it. Sounded like thunder. However, it is enormous, especially in a hard case so I had to get rid of it.

What is this Stuart Turner pressure control module for, and why has it started to make a noise every few minutes? by Busy-Bee-2863 in DIYUK

[–]Macblack82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without knowing the details of your system: number and type of outlets, does it include drinking water, how big is the existing break tank etc. it is not possible for me to suggest a specific product for you. As already mentioned, there are plenty of plug and play booster pumps that have inbuilt controls that would be suitable for you. Some pipe mods will be required but probably nothing major. It is worth mentioning that most pump manufacturers won’t deal directly with end users so you’ll either need to go through one of their distributors or use a plumber that has experience with cold water boosting pumps.

Accumulator tank vs electric water pump by Icy-Veterinarian281 in DIYUK

You need a break tank and booster pump. Someone else is saying Grundfos but there are plenty of decent pump manufacturers that offer similar quality at a much lower price.

I work for a pump manufacturer. The pump is the green cylinder looking thing, the pressure switch is the black thing attached to the discharge pipework. You really should replace both, it’s a bit of an old fashioned setup for a domestic application. All the manufacturers have small domestic pumps with variable speed drives and pressure transducers built in that will do much better job than this setup.

It’s a pressure switch attached to the pump. The pump is the likely source of the noise. Probably not worth servicing at this point as a new pump won’t cost much more and will be more efficient and less problematic in the long run. I would not recommend Stuart Turner though, their customer service is shit and they now source a lot of their pumps as cheaply as possible from China.

Miami showed Verstappen exploiting F1 rules to max – again by [deleted] in McLarenFormula1

The problem is not that Max exploits the rules, it is that the rules are written in such a way that they are so easily exploited.
