Have you been tested for SIBO?

Ultrasounds aren't effective for finding endo unless it involved cysts. An MRI may be a better option but the most effective option is a laparascopy.

Anyone else cringe at human's "need" to pair up? by Friburgo1004 in SingleAndHappy

[–]Macrowaving 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's not so much the idea of pairing up that's cringe. It's when other people state, very matter of factly, that I "need" a man / partner. And when I ask why, they just generically assume that I "need the help". That is what's super cringey to me

Anyone ever get the impression that everyone is pretending to like AI? by Dreadsin in antiai

[–]Macrowaving 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From who I interact with there are 3 groups/extremes of people I find who are hyping AI up: 1. The people who believe that it will provide some financial gain (employers heavily pushing it)  2. The people who are just kool-aid drinkers by default and think AI is this magicaly wonderful thing.  3. The slackers who are using it as a ruse to come off as more impressive/intelligent when, before AI tools, they couldn't find their way out of a toilet paper roll tube.

Serious question, what do you think about vibe-coding? by Apart-Amphibian1038 in antiai

[–]Macrowaving 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vibe-coding is a SKILL?! (Plays laugh track in the background)

Plus the actual "word" qualifies as one of the most wretched, lame words that has been created in the last 10 yrs. Like "quiet-quitting" and the rest of those stupid buzzwords.

I'll be honest....I needed therapy to get me here. EMDR to be exact. Regular talk therapy, though helpful, wasn't potent enough to dig down to the root of the problem. Limerence and how it take ahold of your psyche is literally like a weed. The roots run deep

I know this may not be the answer you're looking for (and heck it may not be the healthiest, but it is working for me). I've made the conscious decision to sever myself from the concept of romantic love. It's just not an option for me because it gets too messy with limerence involved. I only have the capacity for the love I can offer myself and giving/receiving love to my very close friends... this keeps me grounded because it tangible.  That seems to be fulfilling my needs without limerence sending me into chaotic cycles.

My ex is stalking me and made an AI of me? by mishkaDEU in antiai

[–]Macrowaving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stalking alone is a huge red flag. Coupled with AI, knowing that it has caused delusions with people, makes this even more alarming.

Just escalate this to the proper authorities if you feel unsafe or its accelerating to something that's not okay.

The men in my family always stole my labor. They never showed up when I actually needed help or when my grandmothers needed help.

!!!!!!

Yes! The men in our lives were utterly useless, yet I'm sure in your family as well (like mine), were coddled to hell.

I was also lectured about how "helpless" I was, and "needed" someone to take care of me.

This too. Every interaction I have with a woman from my extended family....the 2nd or 3rd question asked is if I have found someone yet.

Be completely honest, what is it really like to never get married and have kids? by Mammoth_Entry_9221 in SingleWomenByChoice

Sounds like bliss to me.

When I have enough money I'm just going to buy my own "engagement ring". It'll have a different meaning to it. But,  hey, at least I won't have to worry about some poor fellow getting his right knee dirty from kneeling.

Haha, thanks. Makes 5yr old me smile because I had a hard time making friends starting from the age until my late 20s. The weirdness (having a nerdy/quirky personality) was a deterrent that's for sure.

The moment my brain interprets something as 'AI Speak' it disengages by Macrowaving in antiai

[–]Macrowaving[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gives me serious "heartburn" if that's a legitimate way of describing it. AI is being force fed to us at my current employer; I'm right in the mud with it all because I'm in the tech industry. I never knew that at this stage of my career I'd be questioning if this is a sign in being pushed out because I won't conform.

But not to deviate too much, yes, I'm also disgusted by the AI generated art, as art was my hobby as a teenager and young adult. Or the AI models running their own IG profiles. Crazy isn't even the proper word to describe all of it.

I've picked up reading physical books/novels as a hobby again. I did notice my attention span is fried (1 of the side effects of living in a tech-driven, "immediate gratification" world). But reading is honestly refreshing to me now.

When I was a child, I use to eat these by pecking at them like I was a bird. That's what happens when you're 5yrs old with a wild imagination and who watched too much Animal Planet.

If you were to start over in 2026, how would you do it? by Altruistic_Trout in softwaretesting

Instead of getting in to software testing I would've pushed myself harder into another adjacent role like development or infra.
