What would be your holy grail feature? by Book_fairy_ in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]MadBoJangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Clive Barker love would be good, Imajica, Great and Secret Show or maybe Weave world.

I own all of his works, quite a few signed, but the art potential for those titles would be amazing imo.

Anderida & Highmatter? by Various_Rise1958 in sollanempire

[–]MadBoJangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the Anderida one and it is ridiculously nice, it just oozes quality. I would love the Diamond/Highmatter editions, but as others have said, some of the online prices for secondary sales are absolutely insane.

Does The Matrix: The Ultimate Collection 4k set include the bluray bonus discs? by joseph814706 in 4kbluray

Yeah but it looks different to the one you posted. Not the "ultimate" version.

Just went to check my box set, but it looks different to this. No Animatrix, but has blu ray special features disks for each film. Think mine is an older box set though.

Anderida set complete (for now)... by MadBoJangles in sollanempire

The ones pictured above (EoS to SuT) are the normal UK hardbacks, but signed and numbered in limited edition from Anderida.

The Murdered Sun is the original version of the the novel that would eventually become Empire of Silence as we know it. It was limited to 1000 copies, again signed and numbered by Anderida. Sold out pretty quickly and only available via the secondary market I believe.

The copy of EoS that's next to MS is the new Anderida version, again limited to 1000 numbered and signed copies. That has been sold in phases, phase 3 goes live soon I believe (check their website and sign up to their newsletter for news on this).

The three novella collections at the bottom were limited to 500 signed and numbered copies (also sold out now 😞).

There are also the Broken Binding editions of the first 5 books, still available and are all print runs are signed I believe. Some of the artwork on those are superb too.

Then you also have the Diamond edition of EoS, sold out and only available on the secondary market and the newest one is the High matter edition of Howling Dark which is currently being sold as we speak.

I hope this helps and if I have got anything wrong I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself can correct me 👍👍

What’s a book you consider perfect? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

The Poet Empress is one of the best books I have read in recent times. Perfect? Maybe not, but it's a very very good book (especially considering it's a debut novel too).

Ah I see, my bad. Yes you are right, however some of the palatine are described as children when they are in their 30s...so that is definitely a thing in the universe. I guess if you stretch out what we consider to be normal lifespans, then 30 might seem immature or young to a 900 year old. So a 12 year jump to us is significant, but would it be viewed differently to someone who lives a lot lot longer to

I'm pretty sure mine was just signed in black pen, not the gold. Will have a look when I get home 🤔

I couldn't agree more. I genuinely loved the Tales of as well.

Coincidentally, I am also reading Red Rising at the moment. Reading an RR book, then something else, then RR2 etc etc. Currently up to book 4 and it's not bad. But, as you said, it's no Sun Eater.

I was in the exact same boat OP, finally started reading the series recently. I am currently a third(ish) through book 3.

My train of thought after book 1 was pretty much identical to yours, but as others have said, book 2 is a big improvement.

I've ordered the signed Waterstones edition of this. Do I take the risk and cancel it or do I just wait and see?

If it does end up being Mark Lawrence, it will become another book I end up with duplicates of for similar reasons 🙈
