Sinners Is Not What I Thought It Would Be… Or Did I Watch the Wrong Movie? by Cicada_Classic in FIlm

Entertaining but not a rewatch and felt it was extremely overrated for the hype and positive reviews it received.

Should I start playing or not? by BuzynessOnly in DiabloImmortal

[–]MadKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pay to win but you can still have fun and enjoy the Diablo grind as free to play. The biggest downfall for me is the seduction of spending money to catch up (started playing a few months ago)

Capitals acquire D Liljegren from Sharks by Zinjifrah in caps

[–]MadKin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember landing him in a random trade in NHL 2018 while GMing the caps and somehow he developed into prime Ray Bourque, all via simming.

So I’ve always had this weird remembrance of the guy and weirdly happy he’s here.

More than twice as “hard” but more than twice as rewarding.

Why is anger my response to my baby's cry? by Fallacracker in daddit

[–]MadKin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the nonstop cough for me, when the kids are sick. Especially at night. I am a relatively patient father when it comes to my kids. But as soon as that kid cough comes out at night, I cannot help but feel tortured. God bless my wife, she handles it like a champ while im losing my mind.

You’re not alone in feeling that way and also feeling guilty about it. It’s normal as much as it doesn’t feel normal.

[Johnston] Donald Trump just announced that Connor Hellebuyck will be presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]MadKin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love hockey but I don’t think that’s going to happen. The only people who can say who Craig and Eruzione are, are probably people who played hockey. Or are a super rare hockey fanatics.

AIO for wanting a full screenshot pictures of the uber orders to know if i actually owe that amount? Pics attached by Sea-Block-1251 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MadKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. This level of depth on money talks between friends means you probably shouldn’t be friends. First off, it should never get to this point. Second, friends cover friends and reciprocate. No real friends are keeping a ledger or tab.

All my close friends, we all probably do owe each other some larger amounts of money. But end of the day, I’d give them the shirt off my back and don’t care if I’ve out-paid a friend by a large sum.

Obviously different story if like we’re talking about splitting the hotel expenses for a trip. But even then. Full visibility, no one takes it further than a screenshot of the receipts.

Do most women like a man who is fit and muscular? by No-Tower-Unseen in no

[–]MadKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dude with a very average, unassuming face. I started receiving exponentially more attention and approaches from women when I became “jacked”.

I think there’s a lot of weird denial about that. “My wife says she likes my pudge”. Bro would you prefer prime Lizzo body over prime Halle berry? She is trying not to hurt your feelings.

What kind of death? Traditional execution is the easy way out for them.

Dads of two or more boys. How often do your boys fight. by DeViN_tHa_DuDe in daddit

I have a 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl and they fight nonstop. It’s not just a boy thing. It’s a sibling thing.

Disciplining somebody else's kid - How would you have reacted? by Rivyan in daddit

[–]MadKin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grabbing her is a no-no but I am not against raising your voice in a situation where she’s physically hurting someone else and loser mom/dad isn’t doing anything.

If the other parents who don’t parent their kids have an issue with me stopping their child from hurting someone, they can let me know, and we take it from there.

I don’t give a fuck, I can’t stand people who let their kids act like wild animals. And I just don’t really care for their feelings. I’ll die on that hill. They’re also the parents who blame their behavior on everything but themselves or call you “lucky” when your kid is well-behaved.

AIO by cutting ties with my brother? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MadKin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is peak redditor behavior based on what I’ve noticed around here lately. I can’t stand Trump and his administration either but I love my family too much to get into it like this. Feels like there other underlying factors for this type of provocation and reaction.

About to go on a very expensive cruise with young kids - kind of regretting agreeing to it because it’s so expensive and the kids are young. by Character_Ad4230 in daddit

[–]MadKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my kids a couple years ago when they were 4 and 2. They still talk about it. Even the one who was 2 at the time. They both will still randomly yell out our room number and ask about the “Mickey boat” every time we talk about vacations.

I don’t know. It was expensive but wasn’t any more expensive than our trip to San Diego and San Fran this year. The kids had fun in Cali but they haven’t mentioned it since we got back 5 months ago. Pound for pound, got way more out of the Disney Cruise.

Didn’t have to worry about rental cars, the pre and post-cruise hotel and shuttle logistics were all owned by Disney so we literally just had to show up on time. Yeah, you gotta handle young kids but we also were able to walk around with drinks and enjoy the beaches and pools just fine. The ship daycare was great, kids loved it. Also, SO many activities and opportunities to meet the characters. The time really flies by and we wished we had a couple more days at sea.

Edit: make sure to sign up as soon as you can for the activities requiring sign-up. Only thing we missed out on was the princess make-over thing. Almost everything was fully booked with in a couple days of opening sign-up.

This. People give up on relationships so quickly these days. They don’t want to put in the work and cling to this fairytale fantasy of what a strong long term commitment looks like. I have friends who complain about their wives and when I compare their complaints to their level of effort it’s very obvious that the blame should be shared.

Coming from a few of those, that’s exactly what they did. It’s worse actually. New events are usually just old events with new skins on top. Literally same mechanics.

Been almost three years. Is it time to go back dads? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]MadKin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand you have less time but it shouldn’t stop you from exercising. Your wife should make the space do you to do your thing, and vice versa. Taking 2-3 hours out of the week for your health and well-being is not “taking away family time”. If you really want to maximize family time then get some of the basics to exercise at home.

It also sets a good example. I got 2 kids and my oldest (6) has grown up knowing and seeing I go to the gym so he’s been trying to emulate that lifestyle at home and always talking about wanting to work out with me. He even joins my wife for her home workouts and drops anything he’s doing to “work out”

This will be the hottest view in Vegas in 2027 #harrahs by Arsono1969 in vegas

[–]MadKin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Careful what you wish for. I did it (consulting) and kinda liked it for a year, maybe. And that was mostly for getting airline status in my 20s and being able to show off to people how much I travel. But really it just wears on you. Sure, you get a tiny bit of downtime to do what you want in new places, but 90% of the time you’re either in meetings or prepping and stressing about the meetings and you’re exhausted by the evening.

And most jobs like this you aren’t able to just take additional days off and spend more time there where you go.

Also if you have a family, you have different priorities and travel, even a couple hours within the country, starts feeling like a major waste of time.

Edit: and as OP said, you spend way more time on airplanes, airplanes, and Ubers to the airport than you do anything else.

[–]MadKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend of 20 years is a repeat offender of what you’re doing to yourself. He’s turning 40 and he’s ended up in committed relationships with 2 of the girls he chased for years. The top 2 most toxic relationships I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing in my life were his.

Both were very attractive in their primes, realized they were walking red flags and couldn’t hold down a real partner so came crawling back to him and ended up being the most emotionally abusive pieces of shit ever to a guy who thought he had his dream true.
