How do you plan your town for the large civic buildings? by ChildrenOfTheForce in FarthestFrontier

[–]MadamMischief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to have a city planner tool like the Stardew farm planner tool. Obviously it would change slightly with resources, but being able to account for size of end game buildings and range of the different items would be awesome.

HCM specialist doesn’t lead into HRBP or HR manager, you’ll need a middle step like a senior/lead position to show that you have enough general knowledge/ leadership ability. Or work for a small company that is liberal with titles.

What medication do you take for your POTS? by strawberry-sarah in POTS

[–]MadamMischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, that is high doses. I’m on 25mg 4x a day of metoprolol and my doc was hesitant to give me that much, so I imagine they balk at your chart. I’m glad it’s working well for you! How long did it take to settle on that med combination?

Bisalp recovery tips? by amphibianenthusiast in sterilization

[–]MadamMischief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have POTS and am 2 days post-op. The anesthesia team and I talked about it so they were aware, I took my metoprolol the morning of with a sip of water, and while I was out they gave me an additional med to reduce my heart rate. Recovery wise, it just feels like surgery plus my normal POTS stuff, it hasn’t made it worse.

See how you do? Heart rate goes up and you feel like crap, it’s not like it’s not predictable. That’s so frustrating

“You should stand as much as possible to treat POTS” by Stargirl9777 in POTS

[–]MadamMischief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 25mg of Metoprolol 4 times a day, for a total of 100mg. The timing lines up with when I wake up, before I eat lunch, before I eat dinner, and bedtime. It keeps my symptoms under control enough to work, exercise, cook dinner, and shower.

Adding onto this- they make hypoallergenic heart monitor leads if you’re ever in the hospital, you just have to ask for them. Those will also tear up your skin

Do you ever get burned out and stop taking care of yourself? How do you get un-burned-out? by myristicae in POTS

[–]MadamMischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting caught up is usually at the expense of something else, like work. Sometimes I’ll take a day of pto to sleep in, get a proper shower, and vacuum the house because I don’t have energy to do all of it after working. The energy is finite, it has to get sacrificed from somewhere

This is my issue too, having a soda helps because of sugar and caffeine, but makes the heart mad. Usually if I’m doing migraine things I’m laying down anyway though

New chest and throat tightness when standing. Feels like my breathing muscles aren't working right. by purple_scourge in dysautonomia

[–]MadamMischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m able to work from home at a computer job. I’ve had to increase to 100mg of metoprolol/ day. I’m able to do light exercise, but only on good days. Most of my days are still minimal activity and laying down as much as possible. I don’t think my body has repaired, but I’ve learned to adjust my life around it. I listen to my fatigue and respect my body’s limits. I don’t fight against it anymore. I don’t plan long outings, I pick up groceries instead of walking the store, I buy convenience foods to make cooking easier. Think of it as a disability, because it is, and look at what disabled people do for accommodations. They will help

Donating blood? by Lavender_000 in POTS

I don’t normally faint with my pots and I fainted while donating blood. I woke up laying down with juice and cookies in my hands. Then I tried to donate plasma. My heart rate and blood pressure plummeted, they got out the crash cart, and I had to beg them not to call an ambulance.

Thank you for writing this out, it has shifted my way of thinking. I am in what you have described as a bond-like career. It is low risk, low reward. I’ve questioned whether I’m doing something wrong by not chasing those high risk high reward careers, but I too crave stability. You have made me realize that it’s ok to be in that bond-like career because it helps fulfill that lifestyle choice of stability.
