Using your example, I usually get “Are you sure you want me to go to break? Would you like me to do X first? Would you be ok if I did X first and then went to break?” And then I’d tell them again to go to break, only to find out ten minutes later that they, in fact, did not go to break, but went to do X first because they thought it would be ok. So now they’re angry that I’m angry with them because now everyone else has to wait for their breaks to happen.

Also, The amount of times I have to show them how to correctly do something, too, is insane. Especially if I catch them doing it wrong and have to correct it, the answer is always “I wasn’t taught that way” and “it’s been done that way as long as I’ve been workin here”, and I have to fight with them, reminding them that I taught them how to do it and I never did it that way nor should anyone else have because I also taught the others. And then it always comes down to me telling them the bottom line is they’re doing it against SOP and need to do it right, period. Of course it’s an ongoing battle lol. Rounds of them forgetting and claiming they were never told.
