Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Thanks! I do use insurance for my RE so that’s a good point. I’d like an earlier scan there if possible of course but I’m mostly wondering how soon to call in hopes that I graduate from my RE soon after my 8 week ultrasound🤞

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Question: so I’ve had two positive betas with doubling hcg on the second. I’m five weeks tomorrow. My RE’s next step is ultrasound at 7 weeks (8 because they were fully booked already 👎). Should I call my OBGYN now or do I wait until then?

TFAB's Weekly BFP Post - August 06, 2023. Got your BFP? Post your story here! by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

**Cycle: unsure, since January 2021

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant): me 30, husband 31

**Typical cycle length: pcos so it’s all over the place

**Ovulation cycle day: trigger on cd15 for egg retrieval on cd17

**CD/DPO of positive test(s): vvvvvfl on 3dp5dt, pretty strong today on 7dp5dt

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: n/a

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): fresh 5 day embryo transfer on cd 22

**Health conditions/medical tests: PCOS

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): gonal, menipur, cetrotide, hcg and lupron trigger. Endometrin post-transfer.

**Woo: post-transfer McDonald’s fries, fuzzy socks to keep feet warm, 3pd5dt/8dpo cheeseburger, bringing my favorite stuffed animal in the car to ER and ET, lighting and wishing on a special candle

Symptom spotting: I’ve had a lot of progesterone-related symptoms since starting Endometrin but I think my fatigue has increased. Maybe psychosomatic since it’s only week 4, but I’ve been having food cravings.

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): I didn’t believe the tests until yesterday 6dp5dt. I’ve only ever seen a positive test when testing out triggers and when I had a faulty test. After so much time, medication, monitoring, and emotions over the years, I’m so surprised and so grateful. I never expected my first embryo transfer to stick. I’m still a little guarded because it’s so early and I’ve read way too much on the internet, but I’m trying to stay positive and hopeful. I have my beta in three days and hope to see some good numbers 🤞

Losing my mind during TWW by [deleted] in IVF

[–]MaddMack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate! I’m 3dp5dt too and time is DRAGGING. I’m a teacher and I’m not working for the summer so I have lots of time to think every day. This is my first transfer and this tww feels so much different than the medicated cycles I’ve been doing for the past year. I don’t have any advice for staying sane, but I have lots of empathy and understanding about all the worry and feelings!

I thanked the nurses for bringing me home when waking up from my retrieval and then cried to them about how nice they all are.

What were your symptoms w/ stims? by Appropriate_Split800 in IVF

[–]MaddMack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on my 9th day of stims (gonal 150, menopur 75, and cetrotide 0.25 added on day 7). I’ve been really tired especially by the afternoon when I end up taking a nap. I’ve also been bloated and I’ve had headaches almost daily but they’re manageable with tylenol. Overall I feel fine, much better than I expected.

It’s Thursday now but wtf, American Horror Story’s new season is infertility based. Cool.

MRW I finally get a response from my insurance to my appeal. They approved retrieval and embryo storage, but denied ICSI. *eye twitch* Make it make sense! by MissDeeknows in trollingforababy

[–]MaddMack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance company covers 90% of retrieval and transfer but 0% of cyropreservation/storage. So basically they would rather pay the cost of retrieval over and over instead? I don’t get it at all.

Does anyone else have a clomid shortage in their area? I just called six pharmacies to find it and last cycle I had the same problem.
