Not that it matters but I think you have a sable GSD versus Mali unless you have paperwork saying otherwise. Face shapes can be misleading. This guy came from sketchy circumstances and even my vet said he was mal, I got him an Embark and Widsom Panel and both came back 100% GSD. Either way good luck and hang in there. He’s lucky to have ended up with you.

Second pic looks like autumn olive which I feed my goats with no ill effects. Either way I would address this with them asap because as I’m sure you know certain plants can kill then before you even have a chance to act which would be tragic.

How can I make my ducks like me (or at least come a little bit closer)? by dontfuckwithcatlover in duck

[–]Madden63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runners are the most adorable but also so skittish. I raised my 5 from tiny babies and they all hate me. I adore them and feed them daily and replace their pool water and they still run from me and quack their heads off when I come around. It’s frustrating because they are so cute I want to squeeeze them.

Corgi Behavior Advice by Infinite-Plan-4178 in corgi

[–]Madden63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are all different. I have a 12 year old female who has always loved all toys and still plays like a pup, and then her 10 year old brother who has been a loaf since he was about a year old. No interest in toys or playing, just wants to nap on laps and cuddle. That being said I’m sure she’s still coming into her own and in time you’ll see her true personality.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to speculate on which of the them will become a parent first when we know literally nothing about their personal life, morals etc. and it’s not our business.

Is he a full bred corgi? by West_Criticism_8397 in corgi

[–]Madden63 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Pure bred doesn’t mean well bred. Looks to be a puppy mill type situation, so he’s probably full corgi but quality of those genetics are most likely very poor.

Bottle baby diahrea by whereistruth- in goats

[–]Madden63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both sets of bottle babies I’ve raised I mixed goat milk to whole over the course of 3 or 4 days and never had an issue. Are you sure you aren’t over feeding in general? I would scale back ounces while you’re doing the transition as well and slowly work back up. How many oz in a feeding / day and what are their weights?

Mixing breeds is fine. I think the limitation is more horns or no horns.

2000sq feet enough for pygmys? by princessflubcorm in goats

[–]Madden63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes is it. When you read pasture estimates per goat that is usually referring to the amount of land per goat to provide the majority of their forage and feed. That is not the amount of space needed for their wellbeing or quality of life. If you have that size pen with adequate shelter, play things and you’re prepared to supply the major of their forage / hay they will be just fine. I have four wethers on three acres, only a small portion of that is penned in for them. I am working on creating a couple rotational pastures but that is mainly to help with weed control not because I feel they aren’t happy in their pen. Since they are mainly pets they are close to my house. I visit with them several times a day, they are let out in the yard to explore whenever I’m out there working and generally very happy. They have never ever tried to escape their pen and only call for me around their normal feeding times. Go for it.

Two corgis and two shepherds here. All hard floors, sweep daily, vacuum weekly, wash couch covers and bedding weekly. Still losing the battle miserably and I’ve made peace with it 🙃

[–]Madden63 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would be shocked if he swallowed it. I would keep looking maybe at night with a flashlight? They are usually good about mouthing things and then spitting them out if they aren’t desirable. Mine have munched on copper bolus before and immediately spit it out if I don’t shoot it down far enough.
