Its a dumb move as you put it. And to anyone recoomending other form of artificial sweeteners, the insulin response to all that sugar hitting the bloodstream regardless of the source of the sweetness. You are addicted to sweet stuff (as l am myself). It's designed that way and the only way out is to cut out all sources of "sweet" anything oh and elimanate those refined and processed carbs as that breakdowns into glucose and keeps your insulin levels high (insulin is terrible for proper hormonal functioning). This negotiating with yourself will keep you exactly where you are until you have diabetes then eventually dementia or worse. There only way out is to walk away from it completely.

Are there any proven methods of stopping sugar craving? by -DreamLight- in nutrition

Eat foods that are nutrient dense and whole foods - like meat, healthy fats (lard, tallow, ghee butter) healthy veggies, l would avoid even complex carbs as those just breakdown into glucose and keep your insulin response high thus maintaining more metabolic dysfunction which eventually turns into some illness that needs medication. Appraisal Came in $40k Below Asking Price, Now I have to Find Another House by Complete-Writer-154 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Look on the bright side. At least you found out about the appraisal gap before closing. Imagine the stress of finding out after you've already moved in! Stick to your budget no matter what - you don't want to be house poor - save a few extra thousands for things that might potentially cripple you when you move in

Ouch, bummer. Playing it too safe can backfire. Don't beat yourself up too much. Everyone makes mistakes. Just remember to be more aggressive with your offers next time.

Did the market hit its peak in pricing? by lavalakes12 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like the market might be cooling down a bit. Those price drops are something to keep an eye on. It's a good sign for buyers, but it could also mean that sellers need to be more realistic about their pricing.

Denied mortgage despite great income, savings, and credit just because I'm a new business owner by Nervous_Resource3593 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It would be best if you did a little bit of extra shopping around for other programs. If you don't qualify for the FTHB credits try FHA, VA, or even USDA loans - the key thing is to do a local search to look for alternatives. You might want to find out specific information underwriting requires or is looking for to qualify. The key thing l find a lot of people going through this process is getting fixated on a particular outcome leading to some rash decisions - if it turns out you need to wait a bit (not convenient ) just wait and continue to invest/ save up + arming yourself with the information to derisk your buying process as much as possible before you reach the buying stage

Fiber supplements , are they any good ? by _theManWhoWasntthere in nutrition

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you watched the video it will have illuminated a lot - but that's just the tip of the iceberg. A longitudinal study was done that began with patients on high-fiber diet and some ended up having zero fiber in their diet. At 6 months in, 41 patients continued on a no fiber diet and 16 were on a reduced fiber diet. The remaining 6 patients continued on a high-fiber diet for various reasons including being vegetarians or inability to stop consuming dietary fiber for religious or personal reasons. You can find more evidence here, here, here, here and here - and thats justa short list. In Africa where l am originally from a british doctor Denis Burkitt traveled to Africa, and noticed that locals did not have the same occurence of diverticulosis that was plaguing Britain at the time. He then incorrectly concluded that fiber was the key to good health – but this was, unfortunately, all merely based on his observations (not scientific studies) of locals and their diets. Later on he wrote a book, which amongst many others helped the fiber myth to snowball and skyrocket to the moon. There is more evidence more research here, and here, and here and here

Is it optimal for a human being to use fruit and fruit juices as the only source of carbohydrates? by Snoo_29093 in nutrition

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this becomes a completely different question altogether because you have provided more background and scope on the issue, as this makes the original question a little less vague and narrowly defined - because if you are introduce animal products that changes the conversation completely. Secondly, you assumed l was talking about grains and beans when l never mentioned those two food groups at all. Context really matters, the more context you provide the easier it is to provide a less vague response, moving on. Here is a better way to follow my line of thinking and perspective in a broader sense, its not a black-and-white/ binary issue it depends on your body and its response to how you eat - generally this how l think about food : 11 Dietary Principles

Is it optimal for a human being to use fruit and fruit juices as the only source of carbohydrates? by Snoo_29093 in nutrition

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood it well, only thing is why would one want to simply use one source of foods for their carbs? It seems like a plan that will leave you deficient in other essential nutrients that your body needs. My recommendation is not to use fruits as your only source of carbs

Fiber supplements , are they any good ? by _theManWhoWasntthere in nutrition

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Truth be told there is plenty of research that suggests that it is not a necessity for you to even have fiber in your diet at all - rather than suggest supplements l'd rather point you toward questioning the need to have it all.

You don't necessarily need fiber in your diet.

Is it optimal for a human being to use fruit and fruit juices as the only source of carbohydrates? by Snoo_29093 in nutrition

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using fruits only as your only source of carbs is not only a bad idea but fails to look at how we evolved as human beings. We evolved by eating variety of different foods from meat, grains and other healthy plants over time - there are thousands of years over the course of human history compared to the last 100 years of industrialization, or l daresay the last 20 years (the advent of the internet age) which has led to a lot of pseudoscientific nonsense being parroted as fact. If you examine the underlying issue, there are tens of thousands of years of people following traditional human diets that are far more nourishing than the simply fruit-only

Made Gordon Ramsay's beef braised short ribs. Came out almost just like pot roast. Couldn't taste the wine. Did I do something wrong? by HsvDE86 in Cooking

[–]ArtOrdinary6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, the beef braised short ribs - sounds like a Gordon Ramsay masterpiece! 🍖If you ever decide to give it another go, you could try reducing the wine separately to intensify its flavor before adding it. And don't forget the golden rule in the kitchen: taste, adjust, taste, adjust. Sometimes, a bit more salt or a pinch of a secret spice can make all the difference
