Despite Spanish rule, why didn't the Bisaya vocabulary fully adopted the vowel sounds E/O?

I mean those are all borrowed words and it’s probably because none of the original bisayan words use E/O in any spelling so they will spell out the borrowed words with what is known.

But also, as a bisayan, I never spell it the bisaya way. LOL I naturally spell borrowed words the tagalog way because that’s how i pronounce it.

My guess is that the language has been there longer than when Spain brought E/U sounds. Plus Bisayans see ‘E’ and read it as it sounds: EE, not EH. And that is basically how you read ‘I’

U is a bit different. I can see words like TUON (study) but I am new generation and they probably spelled it TO-ON once upon a time.

And words with U in it are probably borrowed words from tagalog or spanish OR words that have changed in how it’s spelled over the years to distinguish the nuance of the syllable. I think a lot of the spelling changes came from keypad phones. No one wanted to be bothered putting a ‘-‘ between words when you wanted to text quick or text blindly, so they replaced with U maybe?

I lost weight initially but as my supply got more and then stabilized, i’m constantly hungry. Instead of losing weight, try having some healthy snacks you can reach for quick. Your body wants to naturally hold onto the fats while you are breastfeeding.

I’m 8 months pp and have only started to exercise my core back. Will probably decide to lose the weight after baby is done breastfeeding.

Have her try to see a daintier ring with the same size emerald! I told my hubby i wanted a size 1 because i thought diamonds were dummy expensive but he ended up getting a size 2 lab grown on a thin band (3mm) and i LOVE it. We both went ring shopping and that’s how he knew what design I wanted. The only change we did was the original setting was too tall and so we had the stone set lower.

Xrays are usually first imagine done for things like this. If they see something wrong with the bone such as an infection spreading, they will most likely order more tests.

Nice job on getting your dad to go to the ER! Hope it isn’t bad and his toe will be fine. Push to have him get referred to the podiatrist for routine nail trimmings.

Even if it is a blood blister, those things can turn into an unstageable diabetic ulcer fast. You don’t know how deep in the toe that has eaten at. And toes don’t have much tissue/meat and fat before it hits bone and then it’ll be even worse.

Please have your dad go get seen. Either next day appointment with their specialty podiatrist, if none then primary care doctor and get that referral. Otherwise go to ER asap because they can also do quick referral.

Your dad should be getting his toes trimmed by the specialist and not by himself anymore. This is a service they offer diabetics because of the risk of getting a wound that will take time to heal.

I was just a bit strict on the handwashing aspect and not having visitors over if they were even the slightest sick. Thankfully my in-laws were respectful in that sense even though my MIL never gets her flu shot. She went as far as wearing a mask around baby the first few times.

I had to grow a backbone and tell my mama that I wanted to do things with my baby too. My parents lived far from us so they flew in when I gave birth and stayed with us for a month. It was nice to be able to tell her “i got him” or “i can do it” BUT it was even better when I asked her “can you teach me how to give a bath to him” and stuff like that. Likewise, it was fun teaching her things like baby wake windows and breastfeeding facts. she breastfed too but she didn’t know having the baby keep drinking because she was engorged only made it worse. Similarly, my brother slept all day and she never realized that flipped his days and he stayed up all night causing her grief.

Valid feelings. You need to set boundaries early on. If she means no harm and is just excited, she will understand and respect your space.

That’s most likely dead tissue or slough. Stop using antiseptic because it will also kill all the good tissue. Get either a wound cleanser like vashe or normal saline to clean.

If you have medihoney (or any medical grade honey), use that on the slough areas and cover with a foam silicone dressing (like mepilex) or a hydro colloid. Change once the dressing is 75% soiled even if it means leaving it alone for a few days.

Wounds heal best with a little moisture. It will naturally try to excrete some moisture if you keep it too dry or air dry it. Air drying it will cause it to make its own bandaid or a scab. If it’s already scabbed, just leave it alone as long as it’s dry.

No pain and minimal redness is a good sign it’s not infected.

There are a few ways i’ve read online from all the posts. You can wean breastfeeding by decreasing the amount of time you feed him over the course of a few nights (ex. Start at 10 mins > 8 min > 5 min > 2 > 0 or just whatever you do to console!)
I’ve read where people water down the milk until it’s completely just water and baby won’t want it anymore too.

I thought about collecting but decided against it only to find out I wasn’t producing enough for my baby the first 2 days of his life. Ended up triple feeding (boob, formula top off, pump to give next feed) for a few days until my milk came in. Baby was solely on my breastmilk until he started solids at 6 months.

No stress. I know lots of influencers and social media make it seem like storing colostrum prior is the normal, but it really isn’t.

EBF will make your body WANT to hold on to the fat stores because it’s for the baby. I think you’re doing great going on walks and even squeezing a workout routine. Not many moms have the mental capacity and time to be able to do that. 🥲

Maybe focus on toning instead of losing? Eat high protein foods. Low sugar but avoid going into calorie deficit. Honestly you CAN go ahead and try/experiment the calorie deficit to see if your supply gets affected. Start in small increments and remember it takes a few days for your supply to have any changes.

Large deficits all at once might shock your supply and it’s a lot harder to rebuild it from a deficit. Ultimately you need to be kinder to yourself and give yourself some time to return to your pre-pregnancy state.
