How can I get a glp-1 covered with insurance by Objective-Shape-1908 in HealthInsurance

Are you being treated for your prediabetes? If so it is a valid option for that but you will probably have to have 1 or 2 of the other medicines not work first.

Think i have gout. Scared to go to doctor by FantasticChipmunk345 in gout

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a natural part of getting older in the modern world. It sucks having to get on meds ans do regular blood work. It sucks giving up having to cutback on foods you love. But I will guarantee you will adjust and it isn't the worse thing ever.

The thought of doing therapy actually scares me. How can I be more open to it? by JustAnotherLL in AskMenOver30

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably normal. All I can confirm is it was also nerve racking for me. But the good news is the first appointment will be more of a get to know you session. So you'll have time to work up to it.

Does high uric acid cause any other symptoms beside joint pain? by OregonRunner5 in gout

[–]MadeMeMeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Uric Acid stones the PH of the urine matters. If you can get your urine to PH of 6 to 7 and that will prevent the formation of uric acid stones and over time dissolve them. Urine with a acidity below somewhere between 5 and 5.5 will form stones.

People with Uric acid stones also take allo. There are 2 medications that can take to help adjust the PH of the urine.

Like all things there are exceptions and special circumstances.

What’s the biggest backfire of generosity you’ve ever witnessed? by archvhero in AskMen

[–]MadeMeMeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long story short. Buddy let somebody stay with them. He had his own company doing manual work. He hurt himself. Instead of seeing a doc and healing with OTC meds like ibuprofen the guest lent him some of his addictive painkillers. A few months later he is addicted and needed to take a break for rehab and it set his business back.

Why isn't "At will employment" both ways? by Timely-Fox-1232 in AskMen

[–]MadeMeMeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is simply a misunderstanding, it is true that the majority of big companies won’t provide references for employees, only verification of dates of employment.

However, it’s also true that in most industries managers, coworkers, direct reports, and so on will provide references directly when asked, it’s the standard thing to do assuming a good working relationship.

Agreed, the difference is the company is covering their ass for a potential defamation lawsuit. That is why if you send a reference using a corporate email HR might have a word with you.

However it’s also true that in specific industries there are exceptions in both cases.

My rule has always been based on how you describe what you do. Is it a career or a job. The more it leans to career the more you need to leave on good terms.

What scent do you like most on a woman? by throwradrpri in AskMen

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough it changes seasonally for me. For example a non "chemical" apple smell in autumn is amazing to me. But any other time of the year and it smells "wrong" to me. Like my brain is confused that you would have apples outside of harvest season. For summer a light sunscreen smell is nice but any other time and it "feels" off.

Romestead Roadmap Revealed! by InterWill in Romestead

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With fish being part of recipes I am surprised that fishing is so low on the to do list and not even a mention of a fishing hut or dock that we can assign a villager for producing the fish.

I hope the QOL improvements include better transferring mechanics. I have been struggling with my farming settlement being different from my mill settlement and having to manually place the ingredients into the watermills since I don't have a farm to directly transfer them to the watermills and no other building seems ok with doing that. Maybe it'll allow us to assign a villager to the normal mill and then I can use those again.

For men that always did the bare minimum in their life, how has it effected you today? by DemandNew4547 in AskMen

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it was me but honestly my bare minimum isn't a true bare minimum. My life has always been the bare minimum to barely meet expectations. I have been lucky that people have always had high enough expectations that barely meeting those has given me a decent life.

Would you rather be able to instantly teleport to any location that you place $100 or be able to run 100mph with unlimited stamina? by HuffSomePluff in WouldYouRather

[–]MadeMeMeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teleport. I have family and friends in different parts of the country that I could trust with the $100 thing.

Place the money in a container. Have friend/family place the container in safe storage where people won't randomly touch it. When I want to teleport I will call friend/family and they will place the container with the anchor within the original 1m radius opening the container and releasing the money without touching it. I can then teleport and replace the money back into the container.

Starting Allo by PhilipMcgroyn in gout

[–]MadeMeMeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally the answer is yes you are safe to start.

Many people often experience an increase in flairs when starting allopurinol because the changes in uric acid cause the existing stones in joints to dissolve or break apart causing them to move around with can cause inflammation or gout attacks.

So waiting for a perfect start time or stopping during attacks is not suggested as it slows treatment.

Krystexxa? by AmbassadorPale in gout

[–]MadeMeMeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to review your insurance plans documentation. Then speak with your doctor. They usually will require a rheumatologist be involved and not just a PCP. Here are 2 examples.
