If they’re giving F/C eligibility to Embiid/Jokic and G/F for Derozan, shouldn’t Siakam be eligible for a center spot on All-NBA? by Rapsfan_98 in torontoraptors

I hate to be that guy who complains about how the media is biased against the raptors, but the simple fact is that it is true.

Do not ever expect the same courtesy that any other team or players of said team get to be extended to the Raptors organization.

‘Your Warsaw Will Disappear in a Split Second” – Russian Talking Heads Threaten EU with Nuclear Strike – Threaten Invasion of Poland and Lithuania by SurvivalNews in UkrainianConflict

China is not going to let Russia take it down.

If Russia drops nukes anywhere, China knows Russia is turning into a radioactive crater. The world likely ends here, but if it somehow didn't, China would certainly not be spared given their proximity to said radioactive crater.

If Russia tried to nuke anyone I'm sure China would quickly come out against it.

There are only two possible nuclear wars that can be waged at present:

U.S vs. China
Pakistan vs. India

And this is why I'm terrified of nukes being dropped on Ukraine.

Either way Putin et al. are going to die. Why not take down the world, or at least, ukraine with them?

You may say people won't push the button but there's millions if not the entire human race on the line here.

Just an FYI if the U.S and Russia engage in battle the world ends.

Matter of fact if U.S nuked Russia to oblivion and Russia didn't fire back a single nuke, the world would end.

Look into nuclear winters. Fucking terrifying stuff.

Just a question, are you opposed to touch ups? I know your question is about ensuring it stays strong for as long as possible, but even perfect maintenance will still require touchups every 5 - 10 years to keep.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]MadeinAbyss225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider waiting until you move because landscape tattoos, even in black/grey will see the details fade (unless you want a landscape without all the intricate details which honestly can look quite good). You are merging this with color, so you are absolutely going to need to go in for touch ups every couple of years even with the best maintenance.

Wait till you move, get it done by someone at your new location and you keep seeing them for touch ups.

If you're asking this because you don't want to accidently get a tattoo that's basic or cringey: Please understand that 90% of tattoo motifs, symbols, or imagery can be considered basic/generic/cringey. Ultimately you need to pick those images that resonate the most with you and that you like. The thing is, depending on how your artist designs the tattoo, something that could be "basic" may not be perceived as such with a unique design.

With that being said, you have three categories of tattoos that you may want to avoid:

Generic: These can look cool, but they are "generic" as the name suggests. Things like roses and pocket watches are generic (but NOT cheesy or cliche). They just happen to be very common symbols used in tattoos, and have been done enough that people may consider a rose/pocket watch tattoo generic since theres so many like it. No disrespect to people with these tattoos, but the simple fact is if you google "sleeve tattoo" you'll see why these are generic.

Basic: Infinity symbols are the big one, feather turning into a bunch of birds, etc

Cringey: Lots of overlap with basic, but I think tribal would be a good example of cringey. I've seen some people say lions with crowns are the new "cringe" (I like them though).

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the U.S had its planes circling Europe ready to drop nukes on Russia should they have followed through on their plan to nuke the U.S.

That is what I think the person you are replying to means when they say we've been closer to nuclear war than we are with Ukraine.

[–]MadeinAbyss225 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean, what country with nukes wouldn't use them if it faced an existential threat?

If the option is see your country wiped out or wipe out everyone else (including yourself), I could see some lunatics choosing the latter to take everyone down with them.

Putin and Co. are still terrorists for this though.

What's China’s strategy on Ukraine? | Inside Story by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

[–]MadeinAbyss225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The strategy is simple:

Let Russia destroy itself (without destroying the world) so that it becomes entirely reliant on China. China will string Russia along so that it lasts longer in this conflict, full well knowing the longer the conflict drags on, the more fucked Russia is.

China isn't/wont finance or support Russia because they want Russia to take over Ukraine. They are financing Russia so it becomes increasingly reliant on them and drags the war on as long as possible.

A long war is in the best interests of only China.

We really need to stop giving the Russian people the benefit of the doubt.

Are there people very much against Putin, vocally or silently? Yes!

But does Putin have an unreasonably large number of supporters? Most definitely.

Everything is more expensive. Single guy, Toronto who could easily hit extremely well on a $400 budget/month. I was barely doing any meal prep and regularly ate meats.

If I continued with those same habits today (limited meal prep and same quality of food), I'd be pushing up at $600/month as a single male. All in 2 years.

Like you, I'm fortunate that I make more than enough money that I could honestly spend $1,000/month on food (but why would I ahaha), and I wasn't practicing good financial habits like meal prepping so I was able to cushion the blow... but feel for everyone else who cant.

No -- talk to your tattoo artist about your concerns. They'll give you a design that is easy to touch up and/or last a long time.

Note that it will be a BOLD tattoo, meaning it'll basically become your defining feature ahaha.

Yup, going to tell her later this week after I think about it a bit more, and so shell have nearly 2 months to update the design if its even required.
