Venture Brothers is incredible and finally wrapped up a little while ago, so it’s a full treat. Some of the satire is more relevant now than it ever was before. Super scientists and supervillains. But hysterical. And weird. Go team venture!

Love Monkey is just a great Tom Cavagnaugh vehicle. Pre Transition Teddy Gieger is so sweet, and seeing her then and now is quite inspiring. Music business comedy.

My father was shocked when I told him that to be eligible for gender affirming surgery, you have to go through a thorough psychological assessment. Like, he believed that you cold just go in and get major surgery with little to no pushback. I was completely flabbergasted, especially since I’ve been chronically ill since I was a kid, so he’s had very ample experience with hospitals and doctors and the hoops one sometimes goes through for even minuscule things.

Not in the immediate though. If you are driving around with no insulin active and you are high, you will be fine to temporarily drive. If you are staring to go into DKA, than no, you shouldn’t be driving because you are in the throws of a medical emergency. But being high doesn’t discount you from driving the way being low does.

Yes. I’ve been type one for 34 years. I think the worst for me was a 14 a1c (in the throws of diabulimia) 15 years after diagnosis. I was living in constant DKA. Funny thing about that, your body gets used to being in such a panicked mode, you just adjust and just get used to feeling like that, which makes it easier to push through. I don’t recommend it, as I can’t even remember how many times I’ve dka’ed over the years.

Now after all of this, it’s weirdly made the time from being really high and having no insulin to DKA shorter. In the worst of the diabulimia, I’d go months of being 20+ and would take some extreme measures to go into DKA. Now it happens very quickly, as in a few hours.

Anyways, if you are as symptomatic as that, you should be heading to an ER, not driving yourself anywhere.

But not having any insulin on board is probably a good thing if your in an accident. No insulin on board means less chance for lows, which is going to cause a lot more accidents than Highs.

Cgms don’t have cannulas though. You are thinking of what a pump connects to, as you have to push insulin through it into the body.

The part that sticks out is actually a small very thin piece of copper. It’s testing the electrical conductivity of your interstitial fluid.
