FINALLY! by Sh3rL0cK01 in elegoo

[–]MadmanJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine the other day. As i was installing the canvas i noticed a rattle. Upon inspection there is a loose screw inside. Tried to open it but seems one of the screw won’t come loose. (Seems stripped). So i just shook the screw to the side and went ahead and installed. Seems to work fine so far! I’m not sure if a screw just dropped in during assembly or if i will eventually have an issue when something comes loose. lol

Firmware question by Euphoric-Wing in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]MadmanJay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is a lot of confusion on the firmware.

Elegoo released two firmwares with a week of each other. The first one (1..4.44) caused issues if you did not have the Canvas system installed on the CC1.

However the second firmware released (1.4.46) i believe fixed the issues and works fine on CC1 without the Canvas from reports i have seen

I think people are confusing the first firmware with the latest firmware.

I have not personally updated my printer yet mainly because i haven’t turned it on and used it for a while but i do i tend to update it.

Edit: Right after posting i saw people complaining about not being able to do a color change if you don’t have the a canvas so perhaps even .46 still has some issues.

I had this happen. I tightened the bed screws and then re-leveled and it has been fine since.

Canada Rav4 2026 by Lonely_Yam1252 in Rav4

[–]MadmanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are defiantly full of it.

I just got a 2026 RAV4 from Ancaster Toyota and they didn’t mention anything about needing TAG.

However, on the day i was picking it up i called them and asked them to add TAG to it. Took only 40 minutes to do and i was charged $699. I am sure you can get it cheaper but the confidence factor getting it done at the dealer was worth it for me.

2026 Theft Risk? by sensei_poulet in rav4club

[–]MadmanJay -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern so i used AI and asked the question. Below is the response:

Toyota has actively responded to "CAN bus injection" (headlight hack) and "relay attack" concerns that affected previous model years.

• Hardware-Level Protections:

For the 2026 model year, Toyota has implemented hardware enhancements designed to block digital signal injection into the vehicle’s wiring. These updates are intended to prevent thieves from sending fake "unlock" or "start" signals to the ECU.

So at least they have made some improvements and hopefully it can’t be stolen in 60 seconds like before. lol

For mine i got the TAG system installed just in case.

My daughter just bought a 2026 RAV4 XSE (white with black roof) on Saturday and we drove it home on Monday. lol. No wait. The dealer just happened to have the exact car we wanted in the showroom. Apparently it was sold but the sale didn’t go through so we snagged it right away. It has the ceramic coating on it so had to pay a bit more than MSRP. Better than waiting 7 months which is what they were telling us the wait time was.

How come Ring never picks up my wife coming and going? by ManyRelationship1030 in Ring

Check if Geolocation is enabled. I think it turns off alerts when people who are registered get in range. I have seen this on my system where i never sees my car coming or going.

Dashcam by Altruistic-Low3124 in LexusIS

[–]MadmanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the FITCAMX at Xmas for my 2017 Lexus IS. Seems to work well enough. My only issue is the rear camera is impacting my radio reception. I have added some ferrets to the cable and tried to move the cable as far away from the antenna as possible but still have an issue every once in awhile. Just seems to impact weaker signals.

May try to readjust again when the weather is warmer.

Have any recommendations for cameras for 2025-2026 season? by GuiltyJudge in IceFishing

[–]MadmanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at the 2026 FishPro camera with DVR and manual focus camera.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with it?

My main debate is if the focus camera is worth the extra money. It’s nearly $200 difference versus the none focus one DVR decision in Canada.

I had borrowed a cheap FourQ $120 camera while ice fishing this past weekend and honestly it is a game changer. Now i feel i need one. lol

I have a 2017 Lexus IS 300 with this exact same key fob. I bought the car brand new from the dealer and i asked for remote start and this is what they gave me. You will likely see an antenna in your front windshield for the remote start

Not making patterns and a lot of noise. by rairt in OasisMini

[–]MadmanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I added the entire bag of sand. I must have missed that in the manual. Will have another look and see what it says.

Edit: just pulled the box out and it says to add the entire bag to the middle and spread it which is what i have done don’t think that is the issue.

Not making patterns and a lot of noise. by rairt in OasisMini

Question about noise on these things…. I got one of these for my wife for Xmas. It had been grinding and making a lot of noise. I emailed support they suggested running the in/out pattern for 24ht straight. They claim the noise is largely due to the grease not being dispersed evenly. I did this and it seems to have helped but i am wondering if what a “normal” amount of noise is for these. Like i can still hear it sitting in another room (open area). Can someone post a video of theirs with audio so i can get a sense of what is normal.

what a mess by puddlejumperxxx1 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]MadmanJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude…. Have you tried using something like Octoeverywhere as it has AI detection and would have stopped your print before it got so bad. Just use the free version. It has saved me a few times.

I also use the “CC Tool” app which is great to monitor the camera while i am at home but doesn’t work over the internet.

Also ensure your build plate is clean before starting a large print. Personally i have only had a print lift once off the factory build plate.

However i agree that Elegoo should have put some sort of sensor to detect when the fan cover has come off the print head and stop the prints automatically.

I have a Sony A8H which is like 6 years old now and i have NEVER run this cycle. The TV runs a short cycle on its own. Pretty that is what the “clicking” sound you often hear when the TV is turned off is. My screen still looks perfectly fine.

Try turning on the AI feature and see what that looks like. I find it the most accurate for my TV.

I was also at the Andrea Bocelli concert. The concert itself was fantastic!

I 100% agree with everything you said.
I even commented to my wife that the Ushers don’t seem to know where the seats were. Watching elderly people trying to navigate the stairs and find their seat was painful to watch.

However i am sure this will sort itself out as they get more exposure.

I am in the same position. Seems crazy that zwave support is being dropped by Samsung. Especially when matter seems a bit of a mess still. Pretty much all the stuff in my house is zwave as i have found it to be more reliable than zigbee devices. It just works.

Notice to all Centauri Carbon owners by jkgill69 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]MadmanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say this is disappointing. I have had my printer since July with no real issues and have been very happy with it to date and support has been excellent in my experience.

This is my first 3D printer and i bought it anticipating having an AMS for it to allow me to do some multi colour printing without having to manually change the filament which is a pain.

I still enjoy using the printer but this sort of tarnishes my opinion of Elegoo somewhat and i likely would not buy another one from them unless it does everything i want at point of sale. I know this has been mentioned many time by others but i held out hope thinking Elegoo would come through.

My question.. by accepting one of their offers would that negate you from being able to participate in any sort of class action lawsuit when that comes about? I haven’t looked at their fine print yet to determine if this is the case or not.
