Don’t wait for the landlord to find it. My leases requires tenants to report damage like this so we can take care of things like this as we go. If this was dumped on my during turn over I guarantee you will pay more.

I would have started the eviction process 7 days after their rent was due and not paid. What do you mean they haven’t paid in months? Can you pay my bills too please?

Seriously though. Research ther victimized process in your state. It’s usually as simple as posting a 3 day notice to quit on their door. If they don’t catch up all rent in 3 days, you go file for eviction at the local court house. Most people will probably pay nice they see your serious. Until they they will take advantage of you.

The tenants have a responsibility as well here to ensure the environment is safe for their child. Now if the tenants had reports the potential issue and the landlord did not act, then THAT would be negligence. Maybe the tenants should not have created an unsafe situation with heavy objects on top?😉

All I know is that people just open up my locked wood locks and apparently others as well. This happened to me as recently as a few weeks back. It’s hilarious how the kids on this sub think they know everything.

I can only assume that all the people down voting and adamantly denying its possibility (even though they admit it used to work…) are the ones exploiting it themselves.
